Model's Memo rushes home a winner


Model's Memo stormed from last through the final turn and closed down the middle of the track in the stretch to take Monday's $50,000 Indiana First Lady Stakes by a widening 2 1/4 lengths at Indiana Downs.

The race was switched from a mile on turf to a mile and 70 yards on the main track at after rain earlier in the card. Model's Memo, a 3-year-old ridden by Orlando Mojica for trainer Tom Drury, covered the distance in 1:45.42 over the sloppy going and returned $6.60 as the 2-1 favorite in the field of 12 Indiana-bred fillies.
