SHAKOPEE, Minn. - Second-place finisher Mizzcan'tbewrong defended her title in the $35,000 Minnesota HBPA Mile on Saturday at Canterbury Park after the stewards disqualified Wine Diva from first place.

As pacesetter Bella Notte began to tire in midstretch of the one-mile turf race for fillies and mares, Mizzcan'tbewrong passed her on the outside, and Wine Diva came through to her inside. But Wine Diva, under Eddie Martin Jr., came out a bit in deep stretch, and the stewards ruled she impeded Bella Notte. At the wire, Wine Diva had a nose on Mizzcan'tbewrong, with Enchanting another three-quarters of a length back third and Bella Notte fourth. The stewards put up the second-, third- and fourth-place finishers one spot each and demoted Wine Diva to fourth.

"Circumstances helped us out and we got lucky," said Gary Scherer standing in for brother Richard Scherer as trainer of Mizzcan'tbewrong, who is owned by Last Call Racing Partnership.

Mizzcan'tbewrong ($6.60), a 5 year-old Kentucky-bred by Mizzen Mast, covered the mile in 1:36.07.

One race later, Sarah's Son went from last to first in the final two furlongs to win the $50,000 Blair's Cove Stakes by a length over Here Comes Henry.

"I had so much horse under me, said jockey Derek Bell. "I knew how he can explode. I was never worried at any point. I moved him out and he flew home."

Sam Green and Here Comes Henry dueled through the opening half of the 1 1/16-mile turf race for 3-year-olds and up, setting fractions of 23.51 and 47.53. Here Comes Henry wore down Sam Green and looked to be clear until Sarah's Son came flying. Mack's Blackhawk was third.

Sarah's Son ($5.40), a 5 year-old Minnesota bred by Ogydoug out of Wa Sarah, is owned by Jer-Mar Stables LLC and trained by Mac Robertson. Mack's Blackhawk finished third. The final time was 1:43.15.

* Ry Eikleberry won the $58,650 Northlands Futurity for Quarter Horses aboard Dash of Paint ($7) for trainer Ed Ross Hardy and owner Christine Hovey. Final time for the 350 yards was 17.919 seconds.
