Miss Dakota, Sheza Pretty Gal win

ANDERSON, Ind. - Miss Dakota rallied from just off the pace to post a 9 1/4-length victory in the $32,700 Terre Haute Stakes for 2-year-old Indiana-bred fillies at Hoosier Park on Friday night.

Trained by Mike Lauer and ridden by Terry Thompson , Miss Dakota improved her career mark to 3-3-1 from 7 starts for owners Steve Fugitte and Bob Nettles. Sent off as the 6-5 favorite in the field of seven, Miss Dakota was timed in 1:42.21 for the mile over a fast track.

Pleasant Point checked in second with Indy Fire a distant third, another 4 1/2 lengths back.

* Sheza Pretty Gal captured the $44,400 fillies division of the Indiana Stallion Stakes, the night's co-feature. Under Mike Morgan, Sheza Pretty Gal sprinted off to a six-length lead turning for home in the six furlong stakes. Despite tiring a bit late she had plenty left to hold Cattle Kate safe by 2 1/2 lengths while covering the distance in 1:13.35.

Trained by Ray Stifano for the Circle S Ranch, Sheza Pretty Gal collected her second win in three career starts.
