Miranda Diane crushes Classic at Will Rogers

Miranda Diane turned in another big performance at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla., on Saturday, when she drew out to an 8 1/2-length win in the $55,250 Classic. It was the fourth consecutive win for the filly, and she covered the six furlongs for Oklahoma-bred fillies and mares in a sharp 1:08.66.

Shane Seaton, who trains Miranda Diane, said she will be considered for a start in the $100,000 Saylorville for fillies and mares at six furlongs at Prairie Meadows on June 26.

Miranda Diane ($2.80) set all the pace in the Classic under regular rider Nena Matz. It was the second stakes win at the meet for Miranda Diane, who races for Robert E. Smith and Ted Bozarth.

* Also on the card at Will Rogers was the $56,000 Oklahoma Thoroughbred Association Classic. Marq French ($5.60) delivered as the favorite, when he rolled to a 4 1/2-length win over Some Quick. Curtis Kimes was aboard the winner, who covered six furlongs for older Oklahoma-breds in 1:10. Marq French races for Van and Margie French and is trained by Kenneth Nolen.
