Mini Mom right back in Vivacious

Mini Mom, fresh off her victory last Saturday in the Horizon against 3-year-old Ohio-bred males, will take on Ohio-bred fillies and mares in the $50,000 Vivacious Handicap, to be run at 1 1/16 miles on the River Downs turf.

Trainer Tim Hamm said he had no intention of running Mini Mom back so quickly, but "she was bouncing around when we got her back home, and she is doing so well and loves the turf, so I figured we would give her a shot."

Mini Mom has done everything that can be asked of a 3-year-old Ohio-bred filly, winning three stakes this year: the Tomboy, Cincinnatian, and Horizon. All three were at 1 1/16 miles and scheduled for the turf, although the Cincinnatian was transferred to the main course. Mini Mom will be ridden for the first time by Hector Rosario Jr., as regular rider Cesar Camaque had committed to ride Misty Tab for trainer Mark Doering before he knew Hamm would enter Mini Mom.

Trainer Shug McGaughey will send out War Charm, a 4-year-old War Chant filly. She earned her maiden victory last out at Monmouth Park on July 1. If she can repeat the Beyer Speed Figures she ran at Monmouth in her last two races, she could upset the field in her first attempt against Ohio-bred fillies and mares. She will be ridden by Dean Sarvis.
