Canada’s champion 3-year-old filly of 2009, Milwaukee Appeal, has a new home in Kentucky.

Gary and Mary West have purchasedMilwaukee Appeal, a 5-year-old Milwaukee Brew mare, privately, and she will retire to their broodmare band at Dell Ridge Farm in Lexington, according to Horse-Canada.com. C.E.C. Farms bred and raced Ontario-bred Milwaukee Appeal, who is out of the Open Forum winner Appealing Forum.

Milwaukee Appeal most recently finished third in Woodbine’s Trillium Stakes. Earlier in her career, Milwaukee Appeal won Canada’s Woodbine Oaks and Star Shoot Stakes in 2009 and the Ontario Lassie Stakes in 2008, but she is better known in the United States for runner-up finishes in the 2009 Alabama and 2010 Spinster Stakes. Her 12 stakes placings also include a second in the 2009 Selene Stakes in Canada and thirds in Monmouth’s Molly Pitcher Stakes and Belmont’s Shuvee Handicap last season; both were Grade 2 races.

Milwaukee Appeal retires with a record of 5 wins, 7 second-place finishes, and 6 third-place finishes from 25 career races. She earned $1,198,674.

Glenn Sikura, representing C.E.C. Farm, and the Wests’ agent Ben Glass brokered the deal.
