Millionaire filly taking on elders at the Curragh

Email

Lush Lashes became a millionaire in her first start when she bankrolled $1,367,771 for winning the Goffs Fillies Million at the Curragh last September. She had been bought for just $105,000 by the wife of her trainer, Jim Bolger, at the 2006 Goffs Million Sale.

A 3-year-old Galileo filly, Lush Lashes on Sunday will start for the first time since her lucrative debut when she faces older fillies and mares in the Curragh's Group 3, $200,000 Park Express Stakes. She will meet the 2006 Park Express winner, Danehill Music, as well as listed winners Jalmira and Deauville Vision and last October's Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac fourth, Savethisdanceforme.

The seven-furlong Park Express will be run on soft to heavy ground, which should help the mud-loving Danehill Music.

At Saint-Cloud on Sunday, the one-mile $126,000 Group 3 Prix Edmond Blanc is a competitive affair that has attracted the attention of Spirito del Vento, winner of the Group 2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein; Konig Turf, who won the Group 2 Europa-Meile; and Chopastair, winner of the Group 3 Prix Perth.
