Midas Touch, a Group 2 winner in Ireland who placed in Group 1 races in Ireland, England, and Australia, will relocate to Rockridge Stud in Hudson, N.Y. for the 2016 breeding season, where he will stand for an advertised fee of $3,500.

The 8-year-old son of Galileo previously resided at War Horse Place in Lexington, Ky., where he stood the 2015 season for $7,500. His first foals are yearlings of 2015.

“Midas Touch adds a different sireline and physical type to our roster,” said Lere Visagie of Rockridge Stud. “He will be the only son of Galileo standing in New York and gives our breeders a great opportunity to bring in European bloodlines.”

Midas Touch won two of 21 starts during his on-track career for earnings of $799,196, highlighted by a win in the Irish Group 2 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial. He also placed in the Group 1 Irish Derby, the Group 1 Ladbrokes St. Leger and Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes in England, and the Group 1 Underwood Stakes and Makybe Diva Stakes in Australia.

Bred in Great Britain by Belgrave Bloodstock, Midas Touch is out of the Grade 2-placed English stakes-winning Darshaan mare Approach, whose three winners from six runners also includes Irish Group 3-placed Streetcar To Stars. He is from the family of French classic winner Aussie Rules, Group 2 winner Last Second, Group 3 winner Alleuia, and Group 1-placed Michelangelo.

Special considerations will be given for multiple mares and breeders supporting other Rockridge stallions.
