Weanlings, yearlings, and racing-age prospects in the Thoroughbred portion of the catalog were foaled in Indiana, Kentucky, New York, and Ohio.

“With the Ohio breeding industry blooming due to casino revenues and a new track in Austintown, Ohio - Mahoning Valley - there has been growth in number of mares moving to Ohio and stallions standing in the state,” said William Austin Nicks, the sale’s organizer. “The Mid States Race Horse Sale provides an affordable place to sell and buy horses with a central location to Ohio, West Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois breeders.”

Also included in the catalog are 17 Quarter Horses offered for racing, breeding, and off-track careers, along with 5 horses being sold as lead ponies and outrider’s horses.
