Micromanage to Rockridge Stud in New York

Grade 3 winner Micromanage will make his debut at stud in 2016 at Rockridge Stud in Hudson, N.Y. for an advertised fee of $5,000.

The 5-year-old son of Medaglia d’Oro won seven of 30 starts over four seasons of racing for earnings of $790,551, highlighted by a win in the Grade 3 Skip Away Stakes at Gulfstream Park, and four non-graded stakes scores. He also placed in the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational Stakes, the Grade 2 Brooklyn Invitational Stakes, and the Grade 3 Greenwood Cup Stakes.

Todd Pletcher trained Micromanage for owner Mike Repole’s Repole Stable, and he will join former Repole stablemate Giant Surprise at Rockridge Stud.

“I’m really excited to stand Micromanage in New York,” Repole said. “Micromanage had a great race career, excellent pedigree, and impressive conformation. I’m excited to allow breeders to participate in Micromanage by selling a limited number of breeding rights under a ‘Share the Upside’ program. I plan to support him, as I do my other stallions.”

Bred in Kentucky by Fiona Craig and Dermot Cantillon, Micromanage is out of the multiple stakes-winning Flying Paster mare Catnip, whose 11 winners from 13 runners include Grade 3 winner Indescribable, stakes winner Elaflaak, and stakes-placed Growin Up.

His extended family includes European champion Hold That Tiger, Belmont Stakes winner Editor’s Note, Grade 1 winner Field Cat, Group 2 winner Springing Leopard, Grade 3 winner Walk Close, and Grade 1-placed stakes winner Spring Awakening.

The agreement to stand Micromanage at Rockridge Stud was brokered by Bowling Bloodstock.
