Michigan TOBA to host stallion season auction

The Michigan Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders’ Association will host its annual stallion season auction on Jan. 27-28.

The roster of stallions with seasons offered in the auction number more than 75, with donations still being accepted. In addition to many of Michigan’s leading sires, the auction also features seasons from stallions in Kentucky, New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Texas, Ohio, and Oklahoma.

The auction will accept bids online and over the phone, with more information on how and when to bid available on the MTOBA website as the auction draws closer.

“This auction has been a major source of funding for our organization over the years,” said MTOBA president Patti Dickinson. “There are ongoing negotiations and legislative initiatives that are looking very hopeful for the future of our industry. If all does go well, our breeders’ sheds may be producing once again.”
