Message to DRF readers

Tuesday's terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C., literally hit close to home for Daily Racing Form. Our headquarters at 100 Broadway are just four blocks south of the rubble of the World Trade Center, and our early-arriving employees were evacuated into the chaotic streets of lower Manhattan Tuesday morning. We are grateful that our DRF family has apparently escaped intact, and we extend our thoughts and hearts to the many who were not so fortunate.

All of Manhattan below 14th Street will be closed to civilians Wednesday to facilitate rescue efforts. One trivial consequence of this is that Daily Racing Form will not be able to resume its normal operations until Thursday at the earliest. We are working with our other regional offices and print sites around the country to provide whatever information we can for whatever racing is conducted in the next few days, but it may not be possible to publish our usual statistical information or to make it available on the Internet.

We ask your patience and understanding for any inconvenience these limited operations may cause.
