Race 1

(3) UPFRONTSTRIKESGOLD should offer a fair price consider he hasn't raced in four weeks and his last effort resulted in a break. That said, he couldn't ask for a much better spot than tonight; Miller's choice. (5) R SAM closed well last time and might be forwardly placed from this post. (8) SOAPY SAP hooks up with Gingras in her return to the Meadowlands. If things go her way she has a shot. (9) PAISLEY gets class relief and has early speed; dangerous.

Race 2

Driver David Miller had a choice in here and went with the erratic (4) CAJOLE HANOVER over Ray Hall, who won last week. His choice made up a ton of ground after an early break and clearly has the speed to win if he minds his manners. Perhaps Miller feels he learned something from the first leg effort. (1A) TIME TO QUIT is the clear one to beat in the series but must start from the second tier. If he overcomes that obstacle and beats this quality field, he should be about 2-5 in the final next week. (6) SECRET INGREDIENT moved forward in his second start off the bench and could be a longshot worth using. (3) RAY HALL looks like a clear player but did have things his own way last time.

Race 3

(2) BLACK HAT is hardly reliable, but sheds $2,500 off his claiming tag and really does look best. (9) C MAJOR HANOVER had pace at both ends of the mile last week and hails from a live barn. (3) THRU N THRU could perk up with Yannick in the bike; chance.

Race 4

(4) CLEMENTINE DREAM received a conservative steer while coming off a break in her previous start. This mare has some GO to her and she'll need to show it in order to make the final. (9) DOUGH DOUGH draws into the weaker division and looks fastest on paper if Simons can overcome the poor draw. (7) HOME TURF was a solid winner last week and could certainly show even more in just his third start since October. (6) COCTIER was better in his second start on Lasix.

Race 5

(7) CHARLOETTES MAGGIE has been keeping up well enough versus better competition. Mare won here last year and finds a sweet spot on Thursday. (5) LIZS LIL K K is always a risk to break, but this barn showed some signs of life last week and we get a driver change to Andy Miller. (3) GODDESS'S ROSA has placed in this class in consecutive weeks. (8) DRAGON PRINCESS would be no shock.

Race 6

(7) BOILER BOB THE QB drops down a notch and figures to see an aggressive drive. (3) WINDSONG GORGEOUS is the one to beat but not a complete lock. (4) FOUR STARZ ALEX comes from a barn that has been okay this meet and this one is getting class and post relief. (8) MEETBEHINDTHEBARN has won two straight but drew poorly.

Race 7

(4) PRINCE SHARKA finally gets away from post 10 and should be sitting no worse than second. Five-year-old posted a 1:50 3/5 score here last year. (1) SEEK THE DRAGON was used hard in his first start in four weeks. That effort should have him tight for tonight. (2) SALEVSTER STALLION comes off a good second versus a sharp horse. (7) SHEER BRILLIANCE drops down and has some class.

Race 8

(4) SIX GUN has been holding his own at the C-1 level from outside posts. Gelding had a strong year in 2013 and sticks out for me in this field. (8) YANOYANOMENOW was facing much tougher when last seen on the track. Don't be shocked if he perks up. (1) DAVE PANLONE has a hint of form and should be somewhere in the exotics. (10) CANE RIDGE adds Gingras.

Race 9

(9) QUITE POSSIBLE was handled patiently coming off a break and raced well from behind. My money says Gingras will put her in play this time. (2) PTS BOOMERANG made his first start for this barn after missing five weeks and was a good second. She might be the one to beat. (6) FORTISSIMO is a closer showing some breaks on the half at Monticello. Perhaps the mile track will help. (1) DC NORTHERN has some inside speed; capable.

Race 10

When you handicap every race on a daily basis, you are bound to find a race where you simply have no opinion. Welcome to race 10 at the Meadowlands on Thursday. I'm going with (7) TRUEYS LEGACY on the off chance that the barn change and the addition of Gingras can wake up this former classy gelding. (8) CHECKINTHEBOX has been facing tougher competition. (3) BIG RED has won two straight at Freehold.

Race 11

(5) HUNCHIE is an interesting play on my part since my hunch is that the likely heavy favorite (6) STAR CHASER will be on the engine and has come up short lately in that position. Hunchie made a failed bid last time but got caught in a fast mile against a sharp horse. (7) PENN TURBO TED responded on the barn change last time.
