Race 1

(7) ARTISTIC MAJOR flashed good speed and got the job done against somewhat similar foes at Vernon last time. Barn has done everything right this year and this guy should be tough. (1) DREAMS BEACHBOY has raced very well in his two starts this year; possibly the one to beat. (2) J EAGLE FEATHER couldn’t handle the top choice last time but seems good enough to turn the tables at a price. (1B) REVENGE SHARK & (1A) FREEDOMFORMYSOUL complete the entry with Dreams Beach Boy. They are all capable.

Race 2

(3) LIBERTARIAN was super last week and might just be a new horse with the hobbles added. (5) LADY WINONA put forth a decent effort in the EBC at Vernon. This spot is clearly easier. (2) EXPLOSIVE BROTHER seems to be moving in the right direction lately.

Race 3

(2) RIVER RUNS THRU IT has enough form to get the job done and the ones in this race that have been racing well are moving up in class. (9) THE SUMMER WIND was super last time. That might be the confidence builder she needs to get on a roll. (5) SAYITALL BB has all the class but has lacked the killer instinct.

Race 4

(5) MUSCOLO continues to drop in search of his comfort level and may have finally found it. Expect Berry to hustle him away from the gate and give him every chance to win. (3) HOME TURF has been racing much better with hobbles added. (1) EXQUISITE GLIDE has enough early speed from the cones to secure close position and pounce late.

Race 5

(5) YOU BET YOUR GLASS seems to be staying in the same class but is actually facing a much easier group this time around. He should be pointed down the road. (7) AHDOUGHNOLUM hails from a barn that always ships them in live. (9) WINDSONG GORGEOUS takes a substantial class drop after a dull effort; candidate to awaken.

Race 6

(8) SPICE IT UP LINDY is a veteran that has proven speed and driver Jim Marshall III tends to do good work with trotters. (9) HANDOVER BELLE is the best horse in the race if she decides to mind her manners. (10) OUTBURST could be hampered by post 10, but does find a field loaded with early speed to give him a puncher’s chance.

Race 7

(1A) JIN DANDY has been a new horse over the last four starts and coupled with (1) UP UP AND OUT, who seems like the speed of the speed and should ensure a good pace, they look like an imposing entry. (7) MOONLIGHT RANSOM was disappointing as my top selection last week. I’ll give him another chance. (2) GRATIAS DEO has been in the money more than half his starts this year and won seven times.

Race 8

(5) ASHLEY’S HUSBAND appears to be moving up in class, but the first and second-place finishers from his race last week would be 1-5 in here. This is a much better spot. (6) MADIBA MAGIC N didn’t race as well when placed on the engine last time; maybe tactics change tonight. (3) CAMBASSADOR steps up off a win and does have some back class. (7) THORN IN YOUR SIDE was short after missing six months of action; could improve.

Race 9

(5) ASTREOS FLASH went down the road last week and has the inside advantage on some of the other early speed in this mini-series final. (8) UNTOUCHABLE ONE seeks his third straight win for his third different barn; likely favorite. (2) NF DRUM ROLL comes off a decent effort and could show even more off the claim.

Race 10

(1) PRINCE PALANI was part of the early pace and still finished reasonably well. This consolation event is the perfect spot for him to gun to the front. (4) BETTOR NOT MISS hails from a high percentage barn and has been racing reasonably well. (3) MAMBO ITALIANO has been fairly consistent this year and could get a nice piece with a smooth trip.

Race 11

(5) SOME MAJOR BEACH drops down to a winning level and really should awaken. (4) SIX GUN gets a bit of class relief and seems likely to flash early speed; obvious chance. (1) STEADY PULSE draws better and should have an easier time staying near the front.

Race 12

(4) BETTOR’S EDGE has been a horse I thought was ready for a big race, but he has come up wanting versus better foes. How can I not like him to win against this group? (6) MELBERBY BEACH went huge fractions and held on upon arrival. (5) ART HISTORY is back on his home track. Maybe the home cooking helps.

Race 13

(3) STORMIN RUSTLER hasn’t been the most reliable horse, but this field is pretty bad and he figures to be controlling the action. (6) ACELO HANOVER won at first asking for this barn, but has missed a month due to a scratch-sick line; mixed feelings. (1) GREAT SOUL has some early speed and an inside draw. (2) SOPRAVVISSUTO has been off his game the last two weeks; rebounds?
