CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 100 - 282 / $540.30

Best Bet: BLADE RUNNER (11th)     Spot Play: ROCKSTAR TEMPER (3rd)

Race 1

(1) KEEP GOING showed renewed life last week and now drops down to the NW $6,500 level. (6) GREAT VINTAGE gets a good deal of class relief. (5) RILEYS LUCK & (4) EAGLE JOLT are also dropping down the condition ladder.

Race 2

(2) LEGAL DREAM was part of a hot pace last time and lived to tell about it. If he comes anywhere close to that effort tonight, he wins easily. (5) DOC TELLADAY seems to be moving in the right direction. (10) HOT ART was given no chance of winning while hugging the cones in his most recent race. Another bad trip seems likely from post 10. (4) EIGHT TEN EOM should make an easy lead.

Race 3

(1) ROCKSTAR TEMPER gets post and class relief. This looks like a winning spot. (6) CARSON CITY ROAD comes off a decent effort at Yonkers on Tuesday and should be tight. (3) FOUR STARZ LOUIE visits the basement condition level. He won’t find an easier spot at the Meadowlands.

Race 4

(6) MARKET SHARE might not have been tight enough in the Yonkers Trot after a few weeks off. There are some potentially good horses in here but this represents the easiest spot he has seen in some time. (1) FROM ABOVE needs to pick up his game if he wants to aim for the Hambo. (5) RICCOLO is perfect in eight starts this year. Let’s see what he has in the tank. (2) GYM TAN LAUNDRY would be no shock.

Race 5

(2) INTHEBLINKOFANEYE may have won last week if he wasn’t trapped for a while in the stretch. This guy is sharp enough to handle the class droppers, (3) FITZS Z TAM & (6) MCCLELLAND, who are proven veterans with class. (1) WESTERN TRADEMARK gets a good post; capable.

Race 6

(5) VERDAD drops back in against his peers. In his last starts against 3-year-olds, he was a gutsy winner. (6) SOCIAL NETWORK actually displayed some signs of life last week. Perhaps he is finally ready to awaken. (1) BULLET BOB has inside speed and should come away no worse than the pocket. (7) COLD HEARTED SHARK is on a roll.

Race 7

(3) BIG BAM RAY was in a tough spot at Tioga last time and won his prior start in 1:49 4/5. (7) WON THE WEST drops out of stakes competition. If he can’t bring a big effort tonight, one has to wonder if his storied career is winding down. (9) PANESTHETIC has high early speed and could easily wire the field.

Race 8

(8) MAJOR BOMBAY didn’t look great in the gait department, but was trapped for a while in the stretch and had more pace than his PP line shows. (7) ROCKWEILLER finished second in front of the top choice last week; expect speed. (2) ARTS IDEAL HANOVER has ability but can’t seem to put it all together. Perhaps trainer Jimmy Takter, who knows him best, can get more out of him and keep him flat.

Race 9

(5) HIGH NOON is another underachieving Takter trainee. Gelding finds a sweet spot tonight and should show more. (2) BLUE CLAW rarely seems to win when you think he will, but was much better last week. (6) WINFALL BLUE CHIP & (4) HURRIKANE ANTHONY each have early speed; consider.

Race 10

(2) DA VISION OF ART romped at first asking for trainer Casie Coleman and doesn’t face much tougher tonight. (7) TOO MUCH PEPPER was an erratic second last week; equipment changes? (5) ARTS JIMMY RAY should be right there at the wire with a clean trip. (1) CULLENS BLUE JEAN has speed and the rail; good combo.

Race 11

(2) BLADE RUNNER couldn’t have picked a better spot if he chose the horses himself. If he can’t win this week, other tracks are probably his best bet. (6) T M TOP GUN drops down in his second start off the claim. Perhaps he’ll show more this week. (1) CR FIXED ASSET figures to push away from the cones and get a nice piece.
