Meadowlands: Saturday 6/9 Analysis

CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 42 - 120 / $231.20

Best Bet: ROCKWEILLER (3rd) Spot Play: I AM BONASERA (6th)

Race 1

(1) SHELLYSBLOCKBUSTER was in no-man’s land last week and had no chance of closing from tenth. He gets one last shot for me against a very dull bunch. (3) SHARK DRESSED MAN has a few starts under his belt now. If he can’t handle these he needs to move on to an easier track. (7) MAMBO ITALIANO was sharp last week and is a virtual lock for next week’s final; must use.

Race 2

(1) AWESOME ARMBRO N & (1A) ALL SHUTTLE are two old classy guys from a solid barn. They drew nicely to the inside and either could win this event. (9) STORMIN RUSTLER may have been my top choice from a better post. He has been pacing faster than tonight’s competition. One thing that bothers me is his 0 for 16 record this year.

Race 3

(6) ROCKWEILLER finds a short three week series that fits him like a glove. He really should win at a short price. (8) HANG TEN has been facing killers each week; main danger. (5) RELENTLESS DREAMER rallied nicely at Yonkers last time. (2) ARTICULATE has a chance with a smooth trip.

Race 4

(6) T M TOP GUN dropped down last week and raced okay against a monster. This spot looks easier. (2) PASS THE DECK ships in with decent Freehold form. He didn’t race in the first leg of this series, so a win might be needed to make the $25k final. (5) STRUNG OUT gets a better post and should have an easier time making the front. (11) LEMON DROP HALL comes off a decent effort. (4) MORALITY is certainly capable.

Race 5

(5) GAELIC THUNDER Has been getting luck y and falling under the sub conditions lately. He couldn’t capitalize after getting away slowly last time. Tonight he outdraws his main rivals and should get an aggressive steer. (7) VEAL MARSALA faced much easier this week and should be tight in his fourth start of the year. (10) DONTTELLPORKIES N showed a hint of form at Philly; rare commodity in this field. (8) ART FOR ARTS SAKE & (9) SAND SAVAGE are both capable with the right trip.

Race 6

(1) I AM BONASERA was in over his head last time, especially considering it was his first race of the year. He gets in under the AE condition this week and should make his presence felt in a big way. (3) RISK MANAGEMENT takes a big step up but is more than capable considering his current form. (10) BIG BAM RAY is stuck on the outside again. They’ll have to go really fast up front to set him up. (8) WESTERN TRADEMARK is too sharp to leave off of your tickets.

Race 7

(3) MOST HAPPY KEENE drops back down to the level of his last win. (7) CULLENS BLUE JEAN won at this level last week but this spot is not as soft. (6) INTHEBLINKOFANEYE gets a new driver. Perhaps that gets this guy over the top. (4) ALLAMERICAN INCA double-drops for this spot; interesting.

Race 8

(4) RESCUE PLAN has some hidden form while stuck with mostly outside posts at Philly. Last time he was at the Meadowlands he faced better. (1) WOODSTOCK HANOVER comes off a convincing win. (2) THEBESTOFJOEL gets in slightly softer this time; improves? (3) SNIPER SEELSTER showed some life for the new barn.

Race 9

(11) TAKEMEWITHYOU got back on the winning track last week. If he can avoid trouble for the second tier he should be right there at the wire. (1) KEEP ON FLYIN has been fairly sharp at Freehold and could enjoy the longer stretch. (10) I SCOOT FOR CASH drops down; price chance. (8) GOLD LIKE U has been closing well since arriving here. (2) FROG JUICE won at this level last week.

Race 10

(2) OSCAR OSCAR takes a step up this week. I’ll stick with this sharp claimer against possibly better for one more try. (4) WESTWARDHO HANOVER certainly needed the start last time. He should be tougher this week. (7) PANESTHETIC was huge in his recent try; hard to toss. (5) HYPNOTIC BLUE CHIP might be taking it easy in his first start of the year.

Race 11

(2) LONG LIVE ROCK has been coming up short late but seems to have found a pretty good spot. I’ll give him the narrow call over (8) GRAMS LEGACY & (7) SOCIAL NETWORK. They both have talent but are still trying to put it all together.

Race 12

(5) FAT MANS ALLEY showed a hint of life last week. Now he drops way down and adds Dube. I’ll take a shot. (8) EVENING JOB was certainly good last time. I don’t like the short price, though. (10) FOUR STARZ BLING gets a bunch of class relief. (3) BRANDONS COLT looks like a solid player underneath.

Race 13

(4) BLADE RUNNER looks like a decent claim on paper. If he wins in this soft spot he could have a decent chance in the final next week. (11) SIR JONATHAN Z TAM doesn’t look great but did hold his own against a talented 3yo last time. Maybe the big track will help him. (2) SHEER DESIRE finally showed some life.
