(6) STORMIN RUSTLER & (4) LEMON DROP HALL are two 14-year-olds who are in with a shot. (5) BETTOR’S EDGE won the one time in his last five starts that he drew well; major threat. (6) WESTERN FAME was assigned post 6 for a reason. He can have a say in here. Race 3 (4) BYBY LANDON just missed last week but continues to be sharp. He’ll be looking down the road again and should go a long way. (5) MIKE’S POWERHOUSE finished just behind the top pick last Saturday and unfortunately drew outside of that foe again this week. (2) MEDOLAND JATE should sit close to the action and potentially upset. Race 4 (1) ODDS ON LAUDERDALE comes with an 0-14 career record but that can happen when almost every start is against stakes competition. Western Ideal-sired colt drops into an overnight race and should dominate. (2) IDEAL CHILL added Lasix and was much better last Saturday; turning the corner? (8) ROCKIN MACHINE rallied well in this class last time but is drawn outside again. Race 5 (7) SIR RICHIE N wired the field last time and doesn’t seem to have much early speed to his inside to prohibit a repeat. (5) ROCKINWITHTHEBEST comes off a win in the opening round of the Caramore and is a must use in here. (1) STEADY PULSE took a shot on the rim and tired a week ago. A better trip could produce better results. Race 6 (3) ROGER MACH EM raced big in defeat last week. In another race lacking a ton of early speed, maybe Hanney can put him in play and pull off an upset. (6) YO APOLLO CREED couldn’t quite close the deal last week but was certainly better in his first start for this barn. (4) LOVE TAP HANOVER rolled last time out and perhaps that will boost his confidence. Race 7 (7) BEYOND DELIGHT drops two classes this week and gets no excuses. (1) GRIFFON HANOVER has early speed and pylon position. If he can follow (2) SOUTHERN PURSUIT N in the pocket, he has a big shot. The latter steps up a notch off a nice score and should be controlling the race. (4) MR EUROMAN N raced reasonably well when last here. I wouldn’t be shocked if he woke up with a nice mile. Race 8 (7) AWESOMENESS gets monster class relief this week and should perk up in a hurry. (2) HEAVENLY SOUND & (5) I’M A BIG DEAL are two decent 3-year-olds with good form. They seem fast enough to make the top choice work to win. Race 9 (6) BAY RUM has raced well in both recent starts over the track and really doesn’t face stiff competition here. (5) ONE MORE MIRACLE could make the top easily in this spot and go a long way. (3) WOODMERE ULTIMATE drops down one level. He seems sharp enough to have a say. Race 10 (4) IDEAL SON gets to freefall to the basement condition via the ‘NW3 in 2017/18’ also eligible condition. He should be able to handle this field. (10) HOPE FOR BADLANDS also moves down two classes and lured Eric Abbatiello off (2) OUTCRY, which surprised me. He hasn’t won a race in a long time but is fast enough if right. Outcry has been racing well for some time and should be close to the front. (9) SWAPPORTUNITY is another class-dropper; worth consideration. Race 11 (3) MORE DRAGON was used on the front last time and wilted. He is back down in class and should prove tough. (6) LIVE ON has been closing well. Perhaps Ginsburg will get more aggressive tonight. (8) QUALITY BUD falls in line with the top pick as a horse down in class. A return to form is certainly possible.
