Meadowlands: Saturday 6/16 Analysis

MEET STATS: 0 -0 / $0.00

Best Bet: SHOOBEES PLACE (8th)     Spot Play: MR COOLIE (6th)

Race 1

(10) MR POMPO was a nice two-move winner in his pari-mutuel debut up at Vernon; he ships in to join the Saunders barn and deserves top billing. (6) SIR JEFF hinted at some ability over at Yonkers. (5) GALLIC WARRIOR has been racing well in NY bred events.

Race 2

(6) ALLAMERICAN INCA plunged to this level last week and raced okay; he should be a big threat here with any sort of trip. (5) INFORM shipped from Delaware and went evenly; gelding has a nice mark here from last year. (4) STORMIN RUSTLER has some speed at his disposal.

Race 3

(10) ROCKWEILLER looks like pretty solid chalk from Burke, even from the 10 hole. (3) SIR JACK showed some live moves over at Yonkers, then had a tough trip upon arrival; Dube drives tonight. (4) MAJORITY RULES looks like he could fit with these.

Race 4

(10) VEAL MARSALA appears to have way too much class for these and the veteran should find a way to win. (9) TOPGUN RAIDER is another with some back class, perhaps it will resurface someday. (7) SIR SISU has some speed and Dube driving.

Race 5

(7) WOODSTOCK HANOVER crushed them two back at this level; gelding can win with any sort of trip. (4) FOOL OF IDEAS has been flat recently but the Burke trainee gets some needed class relief. (10) DONTTELLPORKIES N closed belatedly from past ten last week for a share; the same scenerio is possible tonight.

Race 6

(9) MR COOLIE looks like a good fit here and the Mark Ford trainee has shown the ability to be quick off the gate. (10) FLIPPER J gets big class relief, but is saddled in the poor post. (3) SOUTHWESTERN DREAM has been rather flat recently, maybe the change to Dan Dube will perk him up.

Race 7

(6) GOLD LIKE U comes into this final off a career effort and he looks spotted for a perfect trip from this spot. (8) EVENING JOB has perked up for Drolet after moving to the big track. (4) MAMBO ITALIANO has taken two in a row on the engine; obvious speed threat here.

Race 8

(6) SHOOBEES PLACE had pace in traffic versus a decent field down at Philly; classy horse should really respond to the class relief. (3) WESTERN TRADEMARK kept up nicely in a fast mile last week. (7) POWER OF TARA N is capable of closing for a share.

Race 9

(7) FOUR STARZ BLING tired late after a tough two-move effort from the ten hole; prior to that effort he was facing some decent ones in Chicago. (4) T M TOP GUN has a good closing kick and he can display that off live cover. (9) STRUNG OUT has been more of a half-mile specialist but he's shown some speed over the big track.

Race 10

A couple of months ago we were mentioning (5) BLATANTLY GOOD with the top aged horses in the country; he really should be able to handle this type. (7) TOUCH THE ROCK ships from Pocono, where he tired after an aggressive attempt; off the pace tonight? (9) BLUERIDGE WESTERN deserves a look, considering all his back class.

Race 11

(1) BLUE BOY returns locally, picks up Dube and finds a relatively blank field; maybe. (3) MYRAS HIHO was a solid second to a classy rival last week. (6) AWESOME ARMBRO N was racing well at Yonkers for Allard, don't quite know what happened last week.

Race 12

(3) SOCIAL NETWORK debuts for Surick via claim and he looks like a pretty logical contender here. (1) JOE PALZ just missed with a solid effort last week and he may well be the one to beat. (2) BULLET BOB underperformed in NJSS action; he's had some good speed efforts here in the past.

Race 13

(9) CARSON CITY ROAD picks up Dube (notice a trend with my selections?) and some improvement would be expected. (6) LIBERTY CALL doesn't like to win but he's always a threat underneath. (2) REMISSIONOFSINS was too far back to threaten last week; from the inside post he can land a share.
