Race 1

(8) FREDDY DAY HANOVER burned plenty of money last week when he broke. I’m willing to forgive that miscue if the price is slightly higher. (1) ANDY BARAN cruised after the top choice broke. This spot looks tougher. (4) BOBJACKS ANGLE A has found his form. (3) ELUSIVE REWARD could be considered a slight reach, but I’ve seen him step up before.

Race 2

(4) WORD POWER made a monster move to win last week. He figures to dominate again. (5) ROAR closed nicely last time. That was a nice step in the right direction. (2) ROCKS N BONDS missed a week prior to finishing third last time. He could be tighter now.

Race 3

(2) MINDSET finds a really soft spot and should pick up some confidence against this group. (4) NATHANIEL B is a bit of a mystery horse. Most of these look bad, so I’ll roll the dice with him for a piece. (10) BIG ART moves outside this week but could show speed with Allard in the bike.

Race 4

(2) PARADISE STATION comes in from Rosecroft with plenty of form and tackles a questionable group. (1) REAL MARRIAGE gets post relief and should be aggressive early. (5) PADRE MANUEL drops out of conditioned races and a mini-series to this near-basement race for non-winners of two. His lines don’t inspire but this is the right spot.

Race 5

(2) HACIENDA might have found the perfect spot this week because the horse to his inside has no speed. He can leave for position and use his late kick to get up in the stretch. (6) DOUBLETROUBLE is back at the Meadowlands and seems like a fit. (10) ALED HANOVER was handicapped outside and rightfully so. He has a big chance with a smooth journey. (7) LAWGIVER HANOVER & (9) SIR ZIGGYS Z TAM is clear contenders at least for a minor award.

Race 6

(3) LETS ROCK TOGETHER failed in his first try on Lasix but often it takes a start to take effect. His price should be much higher this week. (6) ROCKY MOUNTAIN GUY moves out of Sire Stakes competition. This is a much better spot. (2) ONLY THE LONELY was a bit flat off cover last time but remains a threat. (1) ROCKAHOLIC has speed and should be involved.

Race 7

(5) URGENT ACTION took care of business against lesser a week ago. Winning this race won’t be quite as easy, but I’ll give him the edge. (4) BREAKIN THE LAW also bested a weaker field last time; main danger. (7) DREAM OUT LOUD has shown talent in his first two U.S. starts. (8) BETTOR GLASS finds a field with plenty of speed and could take advantage if things get crazy up front.

Race 8

Nothing sticks out for me here. I’ll try (5) DAMON BLUE CHIP, who drops down to the basement for a top barn. (2) ALLAMERICAN APACHE & (3) STORMIN RUSTLER look like the other players to watch.

Race 9

(3) FOUR STARZ TWINS just missed in this series last week but has the inside edge this time around. (6) THANKS FOR STOPPIN has plenty of early speed and figures to be using it. (5) BLUE STRIKE closed well last time. Seven-year-old has a 34% win rate.

Race 10

(3) COME ON RIDGE had a good run here earlier in the year. This spot is soft and hopefully this guy will show some speed. (1) BEAU RIVAGE N only needs to stay close to the action to get into the exotics. (7) BLUE CLAW was facing much tougher last time. I wouldn’t be shocked if he brought a big effort to the track this week.

Race 11

(3) BOLT THE DUER has a class edge on this group. He should win easily. (7) ABELARD couldn’t be any sharper but he might be racing for second money unless the top choice is flat. (2) STATESMAN N has an outside chance if he can save ground and find a seam.

Race 12

(2) LONG LIVE ROCK doesn’t belong racing against this group. He is simply better than them. (6) REDNECK OUTLAW comes off a nice try and has early speed. (1) DASH N moves from post 10 to the pylons.

Race 13

(4) UPFRONT COSMO was better in his second start since February. I’m not sure if he can take another step forward, but I’ll roll the dice at a price. (2) ESPIRIT DE KAYJAY A beat similar last time and should be the chalk. (6) BOX CAR JOHNNIE moves in a few slots; chance.
