Race 3 - $30,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Race 7 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 34 - 105 / $156.70     BEST BETS: 4 - 8 / $13.80

Best Bet: SMILIN ELI (2nd)

Spot Play: TOWNSLIGHT HANOVER (6th)

Race 1

(6) ANNDROVETTE didn’t exactly have an ideal journey in the Betsy Ross, as she was parked on the rim the entire mile. I’m guessing Tetrick sends her to the top and doesn’t look back in this spot. (1) FEELING YOU came up flat last week, but her prior form was fine. (2) GINGER AND FRED should stay close from this post and shake free for a nice piece.

Race 2

(3) SMILIN ELI has been super thus far in his brief career and looks like much the best; Hambo dreamin’. (7) MUSCLE MOUNTAIN has a bit of a tough post to work with, but I’m confident he can out-kick anyone except the top choice. (2) CORKY hasn’t really done anything wrong this year, but has yet to show he has taken a step forward from his 2-year-old form.

Race 3

(5) FORENSIC Z TAM raced well at this level two back and I prefer Mike over Pat in the bike. (1) AWESOME ARMBRO N took a shot as the favorite and tired last week. This field came up very light and he should get another chance to score. (6) FREDDY DAY HANOVER is certainly well classified at this level and I wouldn’t be shocked if he scored an upset.

Race 4

(2) SOUTHWIND COCOA has been getting a good education these last few weeks in low-level stakes company. Now she goes for the big bucks and will probably be let out a notch. (9) SHARED PAST raced very well in her first start of the year and looks like the one to beat; early speed. (6) MISS STEELE could be forgotten in the wagering here, but she is a decent filly that is capable of stepping up. (8) SILVER CREDIT pounced off cover in the slop last week. I’m worried how she will be involved while possibly coming away at the back.

Race 5

(2) BREAKIN THE LAW takes a sizable dip in class tonight and really should awaken. (1) ETHAN HANOVER raced well from off the pace last time. I can see him getting more aggressive from the cones. (5) BUCKEYE IN CHARGE came up with a huge mile last week.

Race 6

(5) TOWNSLIGHT HANOVER chased home a strong winner last week. This looks like his week. (1) ALL SPEED HANOVER returned from a 1 1/2 year layoff and put in a steady mile. He has every right to show more this time. (7) ALED HANOVER comes off a confidence-building win at Philly.

Race 7

(2) DROP THE BALL was somewhat out of her element on the engine in the Betsy Ross. Look for different tactics and a much better effort against this slightly softer group. (7) ROCKLAMATION is as consistent as they come. Ron Burke trainee is versatile and rarely off form. (5) ECONOMY TERROR could certainly be leaving in this field. Those tactics should ensure her a big check.

Race 8

(10) WAKE UP PETER was done at the start because of a break last week, but I wouldn’t hold that against him. Breeders Crown runner-up is a top pacer and should offer fair value from this bad post. (1) ROCKIN AMADEUS was super in his 2013 debut and is clearly the one to beat. He is a must on every ticket. (7) JOHNY ROCK is sure to be leaving fast; hard to toss. (5) EMERITUS MAXIMUS was the victim of a rare poor decision by Tetrick last week. He’ll be a major player this week, but I fear the price will be an underlay.

Race 9

(9) STATESMAN N had no chance last week at Yonkers from post 8. He returns here in a decent spot and can overcome the outside assignment. (1) ALLSTAR LEGEND has been rolling on the engine lately; big threat. (6) URGENT ACTION & (7) PENCE HANOVER are both very capable given a reasonable trip.

Race 10

(2) SWEET LOU never saw the pylons in his Maturity win and figures to offer some value with (7) GOLDEN RECEIVER signed on. The latter has only one blemish in nine starts this year and loves this track. (9) DIAL OR NODIAL seems to be starting in a cushy spot behind likely leaver (1) FRED AND GINGER, who is sharp right now, and could be involved at a big price.

Race 11

(1) I LUV THE NITELIFE is the best filly in this field and should only be stronger in her second start of the year. (6) JERSEYLICIOUS just missed on the engine last time. She did pace home in 26 4/5 that night. (5) MS CAILA J FRA nabbed the former on the wire in her most recent; exotics must.

Race 12

(4) BOLERO ANDREW won in this class by open lengths last time and paced almost two seconds faster than any of tonight’s competitors. (3) RED STAR TOMAHAWK rode a perfect trip to victory last time. He should be sitting close again. (6) A PLACE IN HISTORY charged home after chasing slow fractions last time. (5) ALL MY LIFE has speed and adds Tetrick.

Race 13

(2) OLDE TIME HOCKEY was a good second behind a promising youngster in Word Power last time. Gelding has displayed some ability and seems best in here. (3) MONTERO BLUE CHIP is undefeated. Toscano trained colt gets a big test tonight. (6) DON’T YA KNOW was definitely better in his last start.

Race 14

(7) PASS THE DECK shows some recent form. That alone makes him a prime contender in this lackluster field. (6) VAVOOMSTER exits a series that was much tougher than the bunch he faces tonight. (1) BEWARE OF DARKNESS has speed and the rail; good combo.
