Race 1

(7) SICILY finished a solid second in his 2015 debut and can show more now; adds Gingras. (1) ROCK OF THE AGES has come to form for trainer Nick Surick. (6) TRADING UP finished a decent second behind a top 3-year-old in his most recent qualifier.

Race 2

(5) DOVUTO HANOVER wired the field last time, but the best thing is he is just as capable from off the pace. I’ll give him the narrow edge in a competitive field. (4) ELLIS PARK charged home in his first start of the year with no shot of winning. He is certainly fast enough to win given the right trip. (1) FOOL ME ONCE is a lock to be leaving fast and has the form to go the distance.

Race 3

(3) AMERICAN LEGEND hasn’t done much to merit attention, but trainer Casie Coleman thinks very highly of the now gelding. He comes off a solid qualifier on the engine and seems worth a roll of the dice. (5) J EAGLE FEATHER lost to a horse last week that clearly has some ability. There is no reason this colt can’t improve in his second trip to the track. (1) SHADES OF BAY has looked good enough in the morning to think he’s ready for his seasonal debut.

Race 4

(9) EDWARD TEACH reunites with Gingras, who steered this colt to his only career win three weeks back. (1) MOHAWK WARRIOR wasn’t made in his first start for new connections; more now? (2) GRATIAN HANOVER exits stakes action and could awaken. (4) MAURICE seems worth a look with Tetrick jumping in the bike.

Race 5

(5) YOU BET YOUR GLASS is back in for a $12,500 claiming tag and figures to bring a top effort. (4) BALLINROBE drops again and will wake up one of these days. (3) GRATIAS DEO jumped it off in his first start for this high percentage barn; another shot. (6) ROCKAHOLIC could have been racing for $20,000 against $10k claimers and instead is being protected in this spot; strange decision.

Race 6

(3) MELADY’S MONET has been the leader of the pack in this division all year and deserves the slight edge. (1) DW’S NY YANK returns to the Meadowlands on a four-race win streak. He’ll be using his high speed from the inside to get favorable tactical position. (4) MARKET SHARE looked very good chasing Father Patrick in a qualifier last week and really should set up with a good trip from this post. All that said, I doubt his connections are aiming for a win here. (6) WIND OF THE NORTH will be heading to the front and is always dangerous.

Race 7

(6) WINDSONG GORGEOUS deserves some credit for battling through :53 and change fractions week after week. I’m going to take a chance with him on the driver change to Corey Callahan in what seems like a wide open race. (8) ODDS ON EQUULEUS finds a field with 3 to 4 legitimate early speed types and could be flying in the lane. (3) ALLSTAR LEGEND has some class but may need a start. (7) DAPPER DUDE comes off consecutive strong efforts here.

Race 8

(1) MISTER VIRGIN finds a great spot in his first start back in the Renaud barn. He’ll likely flash some early speed and ultimate look to make an early brush if necessary. (3) LONG LIVE ROCK was completely uninvolved and may have need the race to get up to ‘big track’ speed. Don’t be shocked if he shows more now. (4) SMART ROKKER has been facing some better company in recent weeks. (2) COBALT MAN steps up off a win but loses Tetrick to the top choice. (6) EASTEND EDDIE held his own with the trainer in the bike versus some top older pacers in his most recent qualifier.

Race 9

(6) JENERAL PATTON went a steady race in his 2015 debut while showing willing speed at the end of the mile. Four-year-old has talent and can break out at any time. (2) ART HISTORY deserves plenty of respect off back-to-back sharp scores. (5) THAT’S MY OPINION hasn’t lived up to expectations. Perhaps the driver change to Brett Miller will wake him up.

Race 10

(8) WESTERN TSUNAMI flashed speed at both ends of the mile behind a very sharp winner that elected not to enter this mini-series final. I don’t love the outside post, but he has as good a chance as any in a wide open race. (2) IN KENNY’S HONOR has found renewed life in the Traci Berry barn. (5) NORTHERN PRIZE seems very likely to hit the ticket, but his 2 for 46 record over the last two years makes him hard to play on top. (4) CAJON HOT SHOT should make the front easily enough but could be the victim of a shuffle.

Race 11

(5) MOONLIGHT RANSOM drops down to a winning level and figures to flash plenty of early speed. (9) MAMBO ITALIANO is back at the level of his recent claim and should enjoy the drop. (2) DANCIN HILL has been a disappointment thus far. Maybe Gingras can wake him up.

Race 12

(2) STORMIN RUSTLER finds the perfect spot this week and has no excuses. (6) GOOD SIDE ships down from Canada and finds himself in a new barn with Tetrick driving; worth a look. (8) RELENTLESS G returns to the Meadowlands at a reduced level and could awaken.

Race 13

(6) ASTREOS FLASH drops down in class and faces an abysmal field. (9) CR FIXED ASSET goes from Bongiorno to Gingras; that has to help, right? (4) BUCKEYE IN CHARGE actually finished reasonably well last time. Maybe he is coming into form? (5) MAGNUS DEO has a reasonable chance to hit the trifecta or superfecta.
