Race 1

(7) HUDSONANDBERNARD raced well in each of his last two starts without much respect at the windows. I’ve seen enough to take a shot against a field without a clear standout. (1) WINNING LINC qualified okay but probably should have held on to second without the dead heat. (6) STOLEN GLIMPSE is clearly fast enough if he behaves.

Race 2

(1) WINGS OF ROYALTY has to be given props now after storming home to nail Pinkman at the wire last time. This may not be an easy spot, but he deserves the edge. (4) HONOR AND SERVE impressed me in his last qualifier. My only question is whether he can trot in 1:52? (5) HOMICIDE HUNTER may have been out of his element on the half at Yonkers. He moves to the big track and that suits his style much better.

Race 3

(6) JACKSRLUCKYTOO consistently paces 1:50 every week and while some of the 3-year-olds in here are going to go much faster at some point, I have to believe that you’ll see a more conservative effort to start their 2016 campaigns. (7) PANSFORMATIVE falls into the same category as the top choice; older horse that is more likely to be aggressive. (1) AMERICAN PASSPORT was super in his last qualifier. He could certainly win tonight but the goal is the North America Cup in a few weeks.

Race 4

(4) HIGHLANDBEACYCOVE has been a new horse with Lasix added and is clearly the one to beat tonight. (2) READYSETLETSROLL chased home the winner last week and could be looking at a similar fate. (7) ROLLAROUNDTHEWORLD wasn’t catching a rated Mindtrip last time; should get a share. (5) PRETTY BOY HILL looks like a player on paper but at 0-15 career, he needs to pick up a win before I’ll bite.

Race 5

(3) SHOW TIME HILL put in a useful 2016 debut mile and seems likely to get a slightly more aggressive steer. (6) BLUE MOON STRIDE was a stakes quality filly last year and should make her presence felt on Saturday. (1) JK FANNIE is hard to knock at 2-for-2 on the year. (4) WATCH N BE WATCHED ships in from Hoosier and shows some decent lines; maybe.

Race 6

(3) PINKMAN put in a valiant effort in his 2016 debut and should only get better with the race under his belt. This guy does nothing but win and you may get a decent price with two horses with perfect records in the race. (5) MUSICAL RHYTHM has yet to taste defeat in nine starts this year and has looked spectacular doing it. He gets tested for class this week. (1) CRESCENT FASHION set a track record for the distance at Yonkers in his first start of the year. We’ll find out more about him this week.

Race 7

(5) MELMERBY BEACH raced a bit better after leaving Yonkers for Pocono last time. The switch to the big track tonight might be just what the doctor ordered. (4) ODDS ON EQUULEUS should offer some value this week and that’s the only time I’m going to back him. (3) ART HISTORY is in good form and should play a big role in the outcome. (2) ASHLEY’S HUSBAND won at this level last week; can’t toss.

Race 8

(7) SPLIT THE HOUSE may have won by a diminishing margin in his first start of the year, but there was no way he was losing that race. Talented 4-year-old is a legitimate upset player. (4) ROCKIN ROBIN has yet to lose in 2016 and did everything right in the Confederation Cup; one to beat but not lock. (1) IN THE ARSENAL raced evenly to kick off his third year of racing. We all know that the talent is there. (8) ARTISTIC MAJOR ships in sharp and was Tetrick’s choice.

Race 9

(6) PRINCE PINANG picks up Gingras this week and moves up a notch on that angle. I’m likely going to be spreading in this leg of the pick four. (2) UF FAST FEELIN seems worth a shot on the driver change angle to Brett Miller. (5) STORMIN RUSTLER has the speed to gun to the top and should sit a good trip.

Race 10

(1) MEDOLAND JATE wasn’t passing the leader on a speed favoring track last time. He remains sharp and picks up Gingras. (5) MILLIONDOLLAR WAVE raced evenly in his qualifier. Down Under imports have done well this year. (3) HOPE FOR BADLANDS charged home in his comeback qualifier and is more than capable of winning this race.

Race 11

(3) BOSTON RED ROCKS was the top 2-year-old last year and he has come back with two big qualifiers. (6) KATIES ROCKER has looked okay in the morning and raced well versus the top choice last year. (1) IDEAL ROCKY has three useful qualifiers under his belt and should be close to a peak effort.

Race 12

(4) BEAT THE DRUM was in against a tough group in his first start of the year and took a lot of air from an outside post at Pocono last time. This looks like the perfect spot. (3) OUREA NOURRIR is at the right level and can win despite taking air. (1) ALEX BULLVILLE gets an improved post and does much better work when closer to the lead. (6) SOUTHWIND INDY drops down and deserves a look.
