Race 1

(5) MINDSET chased home a pretty fast horse in his 3-year-old debut and doesn’t exactly face a bunch of killers tonight. (4) CAUTION SIGNS was too far back last week and Gingras decides to stick with this guy. (9) SOUTHWIND TERROR didn’t exactly post a huge time in his winning mile at Tioga, but I get the feeling that there is more in the tank.

Race 2

This is an uninspiring bunch. (4) PADRE MANUEL kept up better than I would have thought last time. Somehow that is good enough to get top billing. (2) OVERNIGHT DELIGHT faced some tougher foes last week. (5) ARTS JIMMY RAY is 0-for-9 on the season and might be a deserving favorite. (6) HERZON ships in from Plainridge with plenty of form; using.

Race 3

(7) CAMAES FELLOW chased nicely in his Burke barn debut and should be even better this week. (1) MAJOR BELLE comes off a sharp third at Yonkers and barn picked up a couple of wins here last Saturday. (3) RIVER SHARK comes off a pair of dull efforts but has perked up here in the past.

Race 4

(1) JOHNY ROCK was super in his first start of the year and gets a narrow edge because he has that start under his belt. (3) ROCKIN AMADEUS has improved with each of his qualifiers, but with three weeks off since his last morning effort, I’d like to watch a race rather than take a short price. (4) LUCAN HANOVER scored in his 2013 debut and hails from a strong barn.

Race 5

(7) WHIRL MONROE came up with a career best mile out of nowhere after changing barns. That mile was so impressive it is hard not to come back with this guy. (8) WOODSTOCK HANOVER has been racing competitively against good company out of town; Tetrick in the bike tonight. (2) BULLET SPEED was super uncovered most recently. (4) FANTADDY certainly fits in this class.

Race 6

The Cutler final looks like a great race with plenty of contenders. (1) MISTER HERBIE deserves some props for a strong effort in his first start of the year despite tracking lackluster cover. I’m guessing driver Jody Jamieson will be more aggressive in this spot. (5) MY MVP has been brought along perfectly by trainer Tony Alagna and has shown the ability to step up with a big mile. (4) WISHING STONE somehow found room last week to get the win. Along with the ultra-sharp (3) MODERN FAMILY, they are the ones to beat but far from locks. (6) SEVRUGA is hard to ignore. He hasn’t missed the board this year.

Race 7

(2) MR DENNIS has been over his head in the Hudson River series. He finds a cushy spot in a C-1 tonight and really should take advantage. (1) RELENTLESS DREAMER has put together two appealing last to first rallies. It will be hard for him to pass this group from last. (8) HANGON COWBOY has plenty of early speed and should take these a long way.

Race 8

(7) MORTAL ZIN drops to the basement condition and really should dominate. (4) PRINCE SHARKA gets a better post this week. He only needs a reasonable trip to get into the exotics. (5) STORMIN RUSTLER has plenty of early speed and seems likely to hold for a good piece.

Race 9

(1) EMERITUS MAXIMUS looked even better in his second start than his first. This Rocknroll Hanover colt seems to have some ability. (3) REAL ROCKER rallied nicely in his second start of the year and seems to be moving forward. (2) WAKE UP PETER is a top notch stakes horse, but I’m going to stay on the sidelines until he gets a start under his belt. (4) ROCNROLWILNEVERDIE is another who seems to be improving.

Race 10

(10) WARRAWEE NEEDY was locked, loaded and uncontrollable last week. You know he will be gunning to the front and with some making their first start of the year on the inside, I can see him getting away with a cheap :54 flat half. Either way, this is an interesting race with some longshot contenders. (4) HURRIKANE KINGCOLE is clearly the one to beat, but I can’t take a short price on a horse that seems to need a trip. (5) DYNAMIC YOUTH is clearly fast enough to go with this group and he is certainly eligible to improve. (9) SWEET LOU has all the ability in the world. His comeback race was solid. I just wish he drew better.

Race 11

(4) I LUV THE NITELIFE looked awesome in her latest qualifier and seems ready to roll. (8) AUTHORIZE was stuck first-over in her initial start of 2013. She is a talented filly that can capitalize if she finds live cover. (11) JERSEYLICIOUS must deal with the second tier tonight. She’ll have her work cut out for her if she intends on remaining undefeated this year. (6) MS CAILA J FRA seems to be getting better as she races.

Race 12

(3) DAMON BLUE CHIP has been facing somewhat tougher older foes lately at Pennsylvania. You have to think Burke will have him keyed up for this spot. (8) SOURCE OF PRIDE is a nice looking youngster with talent; using. (6) SIR CARYS Z TAM could have a say if kept closer to the action.

Race 13

(3) AWESOME ARMBRO N rallied nicely last week and could be ready to show a form reversal. (4) BUCKEYE IN CHARGE has had some bad racing luck in his last two; playable. (7) RED STAR TOMAHAWK improved in his most recent but Callahan chose elsewhere.
