CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 8 - 23 / $43.80

Best Bet: PET ROCK (2nd)      Spot Play: SHEER DESIRE (3rd)

Race 1

(6) INTHEBLINKOFANEYE made a bold move from behind lackluster cover and could not sustain in deep stretch. I'll stick with him and hope for a better trip. (4) MOST HAPPY KEENE is a hot horse from a hot barn. (2) STORMIN RUSTLER was parked last week and held pretty well; moves inside.

Race 2

(5) PET ROCK has improved in each qualifier and seems primed for a big effort. (1) LONG LIVE ROCK may be the one to beat off his 1:51 1/5 mile last time. Box the top two and head to the window. (3) ROCKWEILLER went a decent debut mile from post 10; could improve.

Race 3

(2) SHEER DESIRE takes the final drop down to the basement condition. This is a very easy spot and I'm expecting an aggressive drive. (8) KISS MY ART is another one stepping down this week. He could be a longshot player if he minds his manners. (9) BLUE CLAW gave his all last time and now draws outside. (6) MIDNIGHT LAWYER has done his best work at this level.

Race 4

(1) GRAMS LEGACY finally got in against his peers and was set up nicely behind cover when he was wiped out last week. This is a wide open field on paper but I'm keying in on this guy on every ticket. (3) OH MY JOEPA took too much air last time but held well; sharp. (8) MAJOR BOMBAY has some serious stakes aspirations; ready? (5) ROCKULESE has a perfect record this year.

Race 5

(6) MELVYN gets some serious class relief and deserves the call. (7) BIG BAM RAY woke up in a big way just like many have been from this barn. (4) OSCAR OSCAR has proven he can play with these, but finds a tougher spot than last week.

Race 6

(1) HOT SHOT BLUE CHIP has been slowly coming along in races that are somewhat irrelevant for him. Now the big money is on the line and I'm expecting there to be more zip in his getalong. (5) BIG RIGS has acclimated to life as an older trotter. This is a big test but he might be up to it. (2) MISTER HERBIE has been super this year but is coming off a layoff and has to ship down from Canada. There are too many questions for me to take a short price. (9) WINNING MISTER looked great last week but really hasn't had any stakes success.

Race 7

(2) SHOW ME UP takes a serious dip in class and should be able to find more. (8) ARTISTS VIEW perked up when dropped to this level last week and should be right there at the wire once again. (3) NOBLE FALCON was Tetrick's choice over four others. He should enjoy the better post this week.

Race 8

(3) MAJOR BELLE was in against tougher last week and posted a big mile in defeat at Philly; narrow edge. (8) FREDDY DAY HANOVER usually wakes up when he drops to this condition. (4) GD AIRLINER is on quite a roll. (2) KEEP GOING gets Sears again but faces a better group.

Race 9

(5) FOILED AGAIN took in easy last week and still finished third despite never seeing the pylons. His big 2011 season was launched in this race and this looks like a prime spot for him to repeat. (1) ROCKINCAM has gotten better in each of his last three starts, and that isn't easy to do when you start with a 1:50 1/5 mile. None in this field is sharper. (7) GOLDEN RECEIVER was a gutsy second last week as he continues to have a career year. (2) BETTOR SWEET could be ready for more in his third start back and will certainly offer a sweet price.

Race 10

(3) COBALT MAN drops back down. His last win came with Miller in the bike. (7) PICTURE ME is another getting some class relief. This guy has plenty of early speed. (6) KEYSTONE RAPTOR steps up off an okay effort. Not sure I could play him for more than an exotic spot. (5) SHELLYSBLOCKBUSTER had a hint of pace in his qualifier and I like the driver switch.

Race 11

(4) HOME AGAIN DRAGON raced evenly last week. This is a good spot for the Mark Ford trainee and Sears in the bike doesn't hurt. (9) CANACO RUN has been facing better. Let's look for some early speed and a chance of upsetting. (2) BIG LEAGUE adds Tetrick.

Race 12

(2) SUCCESS ROCKS has been getting some good checks at this level but can't get over the top. This may be the lightest bunch he has faced. I'll try him one more time. (10) FROG JUICE didn't fire when dropped to this level last week. That said, this field looks easier and the price should be juicy. (8) THANKS FOR STOPPIN moves down a level, but he is unreliable.
