Best Bet: BABES DIG ME (4th) Spot Play: IWILLMAKEYOUSAYWOW (6th) Race 2 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool Race 7 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 7 - 20 / $36.20 (-$3.80) BEST BETS: 2 - 2 / $7.20 (+$3.20) Race 1 (6) ODDS ON LAUDERDALE has been keeping some good company in the morning and holding his own. Western Ideal colt could be ready to fire right off the bench. (2) LIFE HAPPENED ships down from Mohawk Park with good form; must use. (4) THOR DE VIE raced well in his first start for the Hart barn. Race 2 (1) ODDS ON ASHLEY wasn’t great in her last qualifier facing some of the best fillies in training, but her prior effort was quite good. She lands in a soft spot tonight and a good chance to start her career on the right track. (2) PARKAVENUEJULIEANN has been steady as they come of late and knows how to chase others around the track. (5) KJ’S JUSTINE has two decent qualifiers under her belt and gets tested here. Race 3 (2) BROADWAY DONNA was much better in her second qualifier than her first. That effort has me thinking she is ready to roll, but we still have to hope for a decent trip since I doubt we’ll see an aggressive steer. (1) FLY ON battled and paid the price late in the mile last out. A better trip should result in a better result. (3) NEW JERSEY VIKING is certainly fast enough to win but would be more interesting on top with a catch-driver. Race 4 (4) BABES DIG ME came up with a big mile from post 8 in PASS action last week. There should be no stopping him in this spot. (7) STREET BOY raced well on Tuesday at Pocono and most of his prior races are solid. (3) G W T gets some post relief and should be forwardly placed. Race 5 (1) SPORTING CHANCE seems to fit the same pattern as my early picks. He is a Tony Alagna trainee whose first qualifier was better than the second. Notice that 1:51 3/5 win at the Red Mile to close out his 2-year-old campaign. (6) ROOTIN TOOTIN raced well from behind in his 2017 debut and could show more now. (4) HEAVENLY SOUND was done in by post 8 last time. His prior races at Pocono were all strong. Race 6 It is nice to see a race named after Hot Lead ‘The Iron Horse’ as I fondly remember him from my younger days at the track. (3) IWILLMAKEYOUSAYWOW has been rolling along and should prove too sharp for this group. (6) PH KENNY ships in off a pair of wins and could be competitive on his best. (8) SANTIAGO STYLE got hot at the perfect time, right after the closing cutoff for earnings in this series. Five-year-old does his best work from off the pace, so that is the main concern when starting from the outside post. Race 7 (7) XPERT BAYAMA seems to be coming into form for new trainer Ron Burke and seems worth a shot if we can get 5-2 or higher. (4) SWEET ROCK is down two classes this week and should improve accordingly. (5) QUALITY BUD is one of the sharper horses on the grounds right now. (1) BRIGADEIERBRONSKI A rolled versus much lesser a week ago. Race 8 I’ll be honest and admit that I don’t have a strong opinion here. (1) BALLERAT BOOMERANG has early speed and a favorable post to use it for a high percentage barn. (5) BUPA BRUISER was racing over his head after winning a GNotes final. This is a slight better spot. (7) CENTURY CHURCHILL & (2) MAAJAACKKOBE is an uncoupled entry from Bob Bongiorno that could certainly be live. Race 9 (6) SAND ARTIST rallied nicely in her second start of the year and doesn’t exactly face any killers in this Rainbow Blue division. (1) STUDIO GIRL wasn’t going very far from outside post in her qualifiers; surprise package? (3) COME GET THE CASH gets some post relief and seems to have enough go to win this race. Race 10 (7) BIG STRETCH MARK dropped to this level and came up with a strong mile to just miss. Back in the same class, this is his race to lose. (8) BRUCE’S MAGIC has early speed in his arsenal and could very well march down the road. (5) ALLBLACK STRIDE N moves inside a few spots on the strating gate. He’s a contender but not a horse I’m excited about. (2) WESTERN TYRANT has been dealing with a ton of outside posts of late. He wired a field at Freehold the one time he drew inside.
