Race 1

(8) WELL BRED made a huge move into contention last week in his first start since August. He probably should have won but has a legitimate excuse in the time off. He should improve. (7) CANBEC KINGKAZIMIR was Bongiorno’s choice over a bunch of horses including my top pick. He was a good second behind Murder He Wrote last time, who was racing against two classes higher at Meadowlands recently. (2) ALEX BULLVILLE drops down and tends to race well in the bottom classes. (3) CITY PIE is in the same boat as #2; contender.

Race 2

(4) ULSTER drops down one level and has the high early speed needed to secure no worse than a pocket trip. (5) DETROIT RAPPER took a shot and flattened last time; threat with a trip. (3) BLUE MUSE had some traffic trouble a week ago. He has a shot but is in a tougher spot this week.

Race 3

(8) TAILGUNNER HANOVER is probably a stretch from the outside post in his 3-year-old debut, BUT I thought he qualified well and I’m not enamored with and of his competitors. (1) SOUTHWIND INDY raced well after setting fast fractions last time. (2) ATOCHIA was thrown to the wolves versus classy sharp horses in his first start in over a year. He should be able to keep pace with this group.

Race 4

(7) ENEE WEENIE AND ME faces a shaky group. He has the early speed to take charge and steal the race. (1) STORMIN RUSTLER finally got into the win column last out. Twelve-year-old has some class and now confidence, too. (8) CAMWISER was disappointing in his latest but should get a piece of the pie tonight.

Race 5

It is hard to love (9) DRAGON EDDY based on the outside post and his inability to deliver the knockout punch in the stretch so far this year. That said, he does have plenty of early speed and faces a somewhat dull group; one more shot. (2) HILARIOUS HALO is easily in the weakest NW $3,500 he has seen in quite some time; trip threat. (1) DREAMZZZZ R FOR U didn’t menace in his last race here, but that was a very fast 1:50 3/5 mile.

Race 6

(5) ODDS ON EQUULEUS was a good second behind one of the sharpest horses at the track in his most recent outing. The road to the winner’s circle is through him. (9) MEL MARA gave his all but couldn’t pass a rated winner. He has a chance to upset his uncoupled stable mate. (2) JACKSRLUCKYTOO was hung out last time at Pocono. If he can save ground and get clear road, he has a chance.

Race 7

(2) ALWAYS AT MY PLACE set solid fractions when he almost went down the road in his first start with Lasix added. Bongiorno picked off, but the 2015 Driver of the Year seems like a good replacement. (3) PANSFORMATIVE has speed and form; main danger. (5) ALL WEEK comes off a win. If the pace is fast he could pick up the pieces.

Race 8

(2) FOUR STARZZZ Z dealt with some traffic trouble in that mini-series final last week. In theory he bumps up in class tonight, but this field is at worst on par with what he tackled last time. (5) LAUXMONT CAPRI was a bit flat after more than two months on the shelf; can show more now. (3) PIECE OF THE ROCK has been consistent all year.

Race 9

(5) MOONLIGHT RANSOM tends to race well when he reaches the bottom class. This should be his week to shine. (8) DAVID THE SAINT has early speed and some form on his side. (3) GOOD CITATIONS has been in the money 10 of 13 starts this year; obvious player.

Race 10

(2) LYONS SNYDER finished up with sneaky late pace in his lone qualifier. Perhaps this $130,000 Harrisburg purchase is ready to roll. (8) ALL THE COOKIES picks up Campbell this week and has a nearly flawless record. (5) STOLEN GLIMPSE has looked good in the morning.

Race 11

(5) INTHEBLINKOFANEYE switches barns off a win but moves into a high percentage stable. He should be firing early and sit no worse than the pocket. (6) AVENUE HANOVER has been racing well week after week lately; main danger. (4) KINGOFTHEJUNGLE has class and could wake up in a hurry.

Race 12

(7) WILD SHOT HANOVER was hung out to dry last time, but now gets a top catch-driver to steer the ship; rebounds. (9) GLASS PRINCE showed some signs of life last Saturday and could be ready to get sharp. (5) PRINCE PINANG has a chance with the right trip. (6) GARNET RIVER A raced okay while showing speed last time.
