He gets my narrow call in a race without a ton of form. (1) CANBEC KINGKAZIMIR gets class and post relief. Don’t be surprised if he wakes up in a hurry. (7) KIWI IDEAL N took plenty of air and finished a close second last time. Race 2 (1) HIGHALATOR is the best horse in the race for my money and should be able to find a way to win. (2) WINNING LINC comes off an open-length win and should get a good trip near the front. (5) SHNEONUCRZYDIAMND A switches back to the big track where he has won in the past. Race 3 I’m really not excited about playing this race but my job title requires making some selections. (5) TALENT SOUP is a horse I’ve been chasing and he couldn’t ask for a much easier spot. (1) NEWBIE raced evenly from a tough spot coming back from the layoff last time. Maybe he shows more now? (6) SANTIAGO STYLE comes off a break and some awful lines. That said, he is more than capable of blowing this field away on his best. (2) TALK SHOW drops down and was Ginsburg’s choice over #1. Race 4 (3) WHEELS ON FIRE couldn’t have looked much better winning his most recent qualifier and he really doesn’t face any killers despite this being an upper-level condition. (1) ROOTIN TOOTIN took some air and held well last time. Despite being up in class, he seems sharp enough to compete. (7) HUDSON PHIL returns here against easier and did perk up with Lasix added the second week. Race 5 (3) BOMBAY HANOVER’s past performance lines don’t really show much reason to back him, but a loss from post 10 and a break on the half at Yonkers aren’t exactly lines that make him a throw-out. He’s fast enough to win and will be a nice price. (7) ONE CORONA TO GO & (5) TWIN B WATCHING return from winter break off solid qualifiers and either can win if ready. (2) MARK WITH A K has raced well this year; using underneath. Race 6 (2) GRIFFON HANOVER isn’t on the top of his game but is more than capable against this field. He closed well from an impossible spot last week. (1) SO TAKE THAT comes in sharp after back-to-back Amateur wins; using. (5) LEGION OF BOOM should be setting the pace but is hard to love on top. Race 7 (7) NO EASY DAY has a few starts under his belt now and gets some serious class relief. With Gingras getting in the bike, I’m looking for a big wakeup. (3) DECISION DAY gets away from the smaller track and might be in position to flash early speed. (5) TACT TATE N is fast enough to win but too unreliable for me to use on top. Race 8 (10) PLAY JET RAY was a solid third in his first start since December. Despite the tough outside assignment, I’m expecting a big mile. (4) FRANKANDJOANNE showed early speed and won when last seen at this level with Dunn at the controls. (8) SHADOW CAT was just even while finishing well in his first start off the bench and also initial race for this barn; could show more. (5) DUCKIES DYNASTY & (6) HEAVENLY SOUND are playable but would need to step up. Race 9 (6) MCTHRILLER tends to race very well in this class. (1) DRAGON TIME chased Highalator last week. He should be much sharper with that mile under his belt. (5) LYONS KING comes in from Dover in fine form. Race 10 (6) STARZNHEAVEN returns to the Big M at a reduced level and seems to be sharp enough to capitalize. (1) SPORTSMANSHIP & (7) NASCAR SEELSTER are both getting some class relief and either could show more. Race 11 (5) FATHER SARDUCCI has raced very well recently when he gets a decent post to work with and he seems like a worthwhile play at a price. (6) MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING took plenty of air in defeat last week. He’s good enough to win. (4) LIVE ON makes his second start back from a mini vacation and is classy enough to improve quickly. Race 12 (2) LYONS PEGASUS put in a huge mile in his career debut and looks worth following. (8) ROLAND ONTHERIVER has won both of his starts this year and was an impressive winner in his lone start here. (1A) ACTOR HANOVER & (1) DUNDEE HANOVER form a nice entry for the Burke barn that is worth consideration. Race 13 (6) FOUR STACES goes for his third straight win for three different barns. He’s the favorite to win again. (3) SPAGHETTI EDDIE raced well last time and now adds Gingras. (8) JK PARLAY can certainly win this if he brings his A game. (5) IDEAL SON tends to get a piece; using underneath.
