Race 1

(6) TERROR HIGH and (7) LONG FIGHT HANOVER both take advantage of an expanded condition (NW 3 draw outside) and stick out in this field like a sore thumb. They should both leave and finish one-two. (3) STALLONE BLUE CHIP would have a shot if he could go a straight line in the stretch. (5) LETS ROCK TOGETHER has the talent; read yet?

Race 2

(3) OLDE TIME HOCKEY came up short on the engine last time but that was the first time he has been on the lead. Perhaps he needed that experience to know what it takes to hang on. (6) NICK FOTIU might have only finished sixth but showed some late life in a mile that was a bit better than it looks. I could see him building on that effort. (5) ROCNROLWILNEVERDIE displayed some ability last year and qualified back well.

Race 3

(4) D GS WOODSTOCK tries his luck as a free-legged pacer this week. He chased Foiled Again nicely in his qualifier and looks like the one to beat in here. (3) SOUTHWESTERN DREAM was used to the half and pressured before packing it in last time. This is a good spot for him to step up and something tells me I might regret not picking him on top. (1) SIR ZIGGYS Z TAM should make his usual late run for a nice check.

Race 4

(3) KEEP IT REAL chased some nice mares in that last qualifier. That should have him tight enough to play with these low-level claimers. (5) BENNS SUPERMAN arrives from Yonkers in fine form and Manzi comes along for the ride. (4) FOUR STARZ TWINS scored the mild upset last week with a good final quarter. Any decent trip should put this guy in the picture. (7) MANOFLEISURESUIT could be on the engine. That makes him dangerous.

Race 5

(6) RELENTLESS DREAMER was parked the mile from post 10 on a speed-favoring track last time and shuffled out the prior start. Tonight’s move back to a mid-pack post and a class drop should be just what the doctor ordered. (4) KISS MY ART looks like a fit in here if he minds his manners. (5) CORKY BARAN has been stuck uncovered in his last two starts. Maybe the hot hands of Callahan will make the difference. (7) SIR MELOS Z TAM should make his usual late run for a nice check.

Race 6

(4) MASTER OF DESIRE followed along nicely versus better in his 2013 debut. Now he draws better and gets to drop to the B-2 level; expecting more. (1) THE POKESTER has burned some money lately and also gets a class break. His chances just may come down to John Campbell’s tactics. If he doesn’t leave, a first over trip seems likely. (2) BULLET BOB is on a roll lately. (3) FREDDY DAY HANOVER could build on his latest win.

Race 7

(2) MARTIAL BLISS raced pretty well from the outside last week and now gets to move way inside. I’ll give him the narrow edge for trainer Ron Burke. (6) AREZZO HANOVER has high speed but shouldn’t have to work as hard to make the front this time around. (5) DJ LANCE scored impressively versus lesser last week. (9) MEGA LIGHTNING had the trip from hell a week ago. I’m not sure how he gets into the race from this post but I’ll be using him underneath.

Race 8

(3) FRITZIE ROCKET posted a nice even mile in his first start since July. You look around this field and don’t see any standouts. If this guy moves forward off his 2013 debut, he can certainly win at a price. (5) CAMART HANOVER finds himself in a new barn once again; favorite? (6) UNION MAN HANOVER has the ability to win against this bunch, but I’m just not sure what to expect. (8) DR CS Z TAM should make his usual late run for a nice check.

Race 9

(2) STONEBRIDGE COWBOY has been stuck with some outside posts at Yonkers lately. Now he returns to the Meadowlands at a reduced level and gets a perfect spot to do some damage. (7) IWANNARACE HANOVER drops down and adds a more aggressive pilot. (8) PICTURE ME may be the fastest but doesn’t exactly sport stellar form.

Race 10

(6) BLENDED WHISKEY closed okay on a speed-favoring track last week. He moves in a few spots and drops to the basement condition on Saturday. (2) ART FOR LIVING is another who should appreciate the drop to the C-2 level. (7) PEMBROKE NICK ships in for Ford and finds a questionable field. Don’t be shocked if this guy wakes up. (4) SHELLYSBLOCKBUSTER should make his usual late run for a nice check. (5) SKY TANTRUM is a huge question mark.

Race 11

(4) STATESMAN N paced a vicious 1:21 3/5 final three quarters to finish third in his U.S. debut. This guy isn’t going to stay at the B-1 level for long. (6) LIVE ON has the dangerous early speed and form combination that tends to win races. (2) VALENTINO is a nice horse that might need a start.

Race 12

(3) ANDY BARAN faced a much tougher group when dropped to this level last time. This field is pretty bad and he’ll have no excuse for not making a good run at the top spot. (2) DANAS SHARP SMART has a bit of class and seems to be moving in the right direction. (8) REFLECTION ON ME flashed speed and Freehold. That should translate to the big track.
