Race 1

(2) FLYING COWBOY moves into a good barn while in reasonably sharp form. Inside post and addition of Callahan are also pluses. (7) SHOW ME UP comes off a win at Saratoga and these shippers have done pretty well. I’m expecting to see some early speed with him dropping in for a claiming tag. (3) FLY’N WITH ROYALTY was Ginsburg’s choice over my top pick and this guy is certainly sharp. (4) ALONEINSPADES is another in a claimer now due to a series of poor effort; wakes up?

Race 2

(7) WAITING ON A WOMAN finished with plenty of trot while losing to a pair of talented foes in his recent qualifier. It seems like the layoff treated him well and I’m simply not scared of any of tonight’s competitors. (1) WINNERESS is certainly a fit in this race and maybe Gingras can wake him up. That said, I’m worried about an unjustified short price. (3) TYMAL REIGN came up just short in this class last week. (8) AMBER ELLA is more of an exotics threat for me starting from post eight.

Race 3

(3) TULLOW N comes out of a paceless race where a horse was backing into him and he had no opportunity to finish in the top three. If you recall he was airborne in his Meadowlands race two starts back. Maybe he just needs the big track. (1) ALWAYS AT MY PLACE blasted down the road last week while showing his class; the one to beat. (4) AMERICANPRIMETIME is another Saratoga shipper and he has past Meadowlands experience as well. (1A) SPEED AGAIN is part of the entry with Always At My Place and those two could control the action here.

Race 4

(3) TAKE MY PICTURE is a horse that I like better on the big track and he is coming off a win. My only concern here is that he might be the favorite picking up Gingras. (2) WATKINS is probably facing slightly easier this week but still needs to work out a trip since he tends to race from off the pace. (1) BEE IN CHARGE has some ability if he can mind his manners.

Race 5

(9) SNEAK ON BYE was aggressively handled upon arrival and turned in a credible performance. This field looks rather weak and I think he can go the distance this time. (2) LONG BEACH is proof that just because a horse is well bred (Somebeachsomewhere-American Jewel) they don’t necessarily become a star. New connections got a decent effort out of him last time and maybe another step forward is on the way. (1) RECORD MACHINE should be helped by moving to the inside of the gate; trip player. (10) CUZ I’M HAPPY actually beat the top pick last week but now is stuck outside of him in post 10; maybe.

Race 6

I have to admit that I really don’t have a strong opinion here. (4) CAN DO is as consistent as they come and has the early speed to work out a winning trip. (8) RAISE THE CURTAIN can take some air and power on, which is a trait I’m always looking for in a horse. (2) UPFRONT BILLY has plenty of class and is supposed to wake up in a spot like this one. (5) BROADWAY CONCERT picked up some confidence with a win last week.

Race 7

(3) LAWRENCETOWN BEACH was very sharp while winning last week and I see him going down the road once again. (1) JK WILL POWER just lasted last time versus a field he was supposed to beat. I see him sitting a trip just behind the lead this week and that could serve him well. (2) HALUSKY comes off a nice mile where he passed almost the entire field at Philly; not easy to do.

Race 8

(2) BETABCOOL N finished well from the back last week after starting from an outside post. She moves inside now and should offer value despite being the top earner in the field this year. (6) VEGAS IN STYLE switches to the Ron Burke barn and we saw this move work nicely last weekend. (8) PHYLLIS JEAN put in a big mile when last seen here. (3) VALUABLE ART has dangerous early speed.

Race 9

(6) EXPRESS STRIDE N is racing in the same class as the last couple of weeks but is actually getting a pretty sizable break as this is one of the softer NW11500’s I’ve seen. Most of the foes he’s been facing – Lawrencetown Beach, Tullow N, Art History – would devour this field. (1) ROCK TO GLORY is back on the big track where he was doing good work versus lesser in November. (8) ONEISALONELYNUMBER & (7) ROCK ON THE HILL both seem capable is given a clean journey.

Race 10

(7) COLORFUL JASMINE added Lasix last week and finally finished up her mile with pace. This 3-year-old has some talent and we just might get to see it with the medication in place. (10) ABBIJADE HANOVER is back down a level in class and will certainly be gunning to the front, but the outside post and her recent seconditis have me worried. (8) COUSIN MARY also added Lasix last time and raced well; worth using.

Race 11

(1) ELRAMA N displayed some signs of life while first-over last week and might be ready to go on a roll now. (5) MORE DRAGON was flat sitting the pocket for some reason but is better than that. (8) DUNE DUDE is capable of winning given some pace help and a smooth trip. (6) MISTER TRUTH is down in class but really should have been better last time.

Race 12

(1) K-LEES SHAKENBAKE has a couple of races under his belt and catches an easier group this week. He should be able to make one quick move to the front and hold on if Marohn elects to get aggressive. (6) STARZNHEAVEN steps up off a sharp score and seems fast enough to play in this field. (3) TRAVEL PLAYLIST comes out of the same race as the top pick and might be ready for more in his second start for these connections. (8) MR BAILANDO could be a factor with a smooth trip.
