Lady Shadow remained the undisputed leader of the older mare pacing group as she won the $235,930 Lady Liberty to close out the stakes on Hambletonian Day at the Meadowlands.  The time was 2:03 for the added distance of a mile and an eighth. Starting from a trailing post 12, Lady Shadow (Yannick Gingras) was three-wide in mid-pack before the 25 2/5 opening quarter, and then two-wide until just past the 53 second half, where she cleared Venus Delight (Jason Bartlett).  Lady Shadow would then get to three-quarters in 1:20 4/5 and completed the mile in 1:48 3/5. Solar Sister (Brian Sears) had moved up from first-over into contention in the stretch and had dead aim at Lady Shadow in the final eighth, but Lady Shadow was too tough, prevailing by half a length.  Katie Said (Brett Miller) rallied from 12th and last early to finish third. Ron Adams trains Lady Shadow, a 5-year-old mare by Shadow Play, for owners David Kryway, Carl Atley, Ed Gold, and Bfj Stable.  This was the 22nd win of her career, and she has now earned $1,169,269.  The 4-5 favorite, Lady Shadow paid $3.10.
