Meadowlands: Horses to Watch for July 5-7, 2012

PERSUASIVE HANOVER (NW2) – Took on a good amount of pressure and simply cruised to an impressive score.

POWER ROCK (2YO) – Was stuck behind horses for the first part of the stretch, seemed even when clear but found tight quarters again in deep stretch. Hard to judge how much he would have had with a smooth trip.

MATTS AWAY TEN (2YO) – Seemed a bit funky-gaited at the back early in the stretch, but he began to show some life and had to be grabbed nearing the wire due to space issues. I’d keep my eye on this one in a softer spot.

TOP BILLING (QUA) - Looked every bit as good as his 12 1/2 length win; nice acceleration and was never asked.

DOC TELLADAY (QUA) - Closed in a wind-aided :26 3/5 but did it under no urging and seemed to have more left in the tank.

TIME TO KILL (QUA) - Was content sitting off the pace today, closed very well late and looks ready for a start.

TIMO DEO (QUA) - Sat last all the way before angling wide in the lane; closed very well under a drive.

CULT STATUS (QUA) - Sat a pocket, pulled in the lane and closed with very nice pace under own power.

CAPTAINTREACHEROUS (QUA) - Was simply dominant today and should bury whatever field he faces in his pari-mutuel debut.

LOVE U OVERANDOVER (NW10000) – Was taken out by a tired foe and had no chance of finishing better than where he finished.

POSSESS THE WILL (REYNOLDS) – Went the type of mile you would expect from a 3yo trotter in his first start of the year. I’d expect more going forward.

FORECLOSURE N (NW16000) – Closed well off lackluster cover and is eligible to drop a class next week.

Horses that were previously listed but have yet to race

I LUV THE NITELIFE (QUA5) - Grabbed cover through honest fractions and closed very well coming home in :27 3/5.
