Meadowlands: Friday 6/29 Analysis

CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 67 - 180 / $348.00

Best Bet: LINDYS JERSEY BOY (3rd)     Spot Play: ARCH MADNESS (6th)

Race 1

(6) GIVE ME AN AMEN qualified well at Gaitway and lured Tetrick off another Toscano trainee; interesting. (4) ODDS ON ALPHA has looked great in the morning but mom hasn’t produced any stars with her two previous foals. (5) JK ALLTHATJAZZ was “under a hold” in that last qualifier according to our charter. This is the first foal from a mare that made over $238k. (1) EXCLAMATION is a half-sister to $761k earner Rocklamation.

Race 2

(1) ARIA certainly looked good in her most recent qualifier and mom has tossed a few decent foals from her previous four to race. Inside post advantage is a plus with the babies. (6) SHEBESTINGIN looks like the clear one to beat off some good morning efforts. She is a half-sister to Hop Sing ($972k) and Bono Bests ($531k), but they were both geldings. None of her three fillies turned out to be anything special. (5) GRAMERCY HANOVER chased willingly at Gaitway in some decent miles. She is the first foal from Gray Major.

Race 3

(4) LINDYS JERSEY BOY takes a monster drop in class and should wake up in a big way. (6) POWER PLAY made a miscue last time. We know this guy can trot when he feels like it. (3) CAMPO BASSO gets a nice switch to Gingras in the bike.

Race 4

(1) BIGRISK is a half-brother to $2.7 million earner Rock N Roll Heaven and also out of the mare that produced Clear Vision ($1.1 million). Some may be disappointed by the lack of any standout qualifiers, but you’ll notice his final times are competitive or better than today’s competition. (3) TROON made a nice move and has yet to lose in the morning. (4) DON’T YA KNOW comes off a pair of nice qualifiers himself. He is the first foal out of Caviart Vegas. (2) SOMEPLACE SPECIAL is the sixth foal from Heathers Western, who has produced three $225k-plus earners.

Race 5

(5) KENZIES BEACH BOY seems to get off the gate well, which is important in these 2yo races. Let’s give him a shot at what should be a healthy price. (7) SOURCE OF PRIDE is a full brother to millionaire and world record holding (1:48 2/5) filly American Jewel. Still, I think there are enough questions with her to avoid a short price. (3) EDINGTON is another with good early zip. He is a half-brother to two $410k-plus earners.

Race 6

(4) ARCH MADNESS got a nice lightener under his belt last week. If you check out his pattern from last year, he trotted a 1:51-plus mile in the prep and posted a 1:50 2/5 mile in the final; can upset. (3) CHAPTER SEVEN is a deserving favorite after a sparkling win under minimal urging last week. (2) WINNING MISTER is having a career year and remains dangerous. (8) DEJARMBRO is getting better but doesn’t seem quite ready for this yet.

Race 7

(2) STERLING VOLO posted a convincing win last time and seems to have lots of room for improvement. (1) CANT HAVE MY MONI comes off a nice mile at Tioga; using. (4) MODERN FAMILY has the talent but doesn’t always behave. (8) SOUTHWIND MONI & (7) LADY ANDI are capable if they bring their best.

Race 8

(4) DRAGON PRINCESS moves back inside and could offer some value. (8) ODDS ON AVENTURE is hard to fault. (10) NITE GAMES has enough early speed to overcome the bad draw. (1) RUB THING remains in form.

Race 9

(7) UPFRONTSTRIKESGOLD went a nice flat mile last time. He drops way down now and can certainly show more. (6) GET CHIPPED has the early speed advantage. (3) GOTABGOODTOBLUCKY is fast enough to go with these if he stays flat.

Race 10

(1) TEXAS RIDGE has proven that he can stay flat with the hobbles added. I’m hoping he can go back to that qualifying mile from 5/26. (4) ZOOMING is the clear one to beat on paper, but I’m just not sold on him at a potential short price. (7) BLUSHING HANOVER has been facing tougher but I’m not sure that means she’ll be successful in here. (9) QUANTUM CONFIDENT seems to be winning every other week and this is a good one in the pattern.

Race 11

(1) RAM ROCKER scored at this level last week and gets the repeat call. (5) CLEAR VIEW HANOVER wasn’t awful last time and is sure to offer a big price. (2) ODDS ON JAN missed nearly seven weeks and didn’t lose much ground last time; shows more?
