Race 1

(10) MUSCLE MIDAS did everything that was asked of him in his 3-year-old debut. This field came up reasonably light and he can leave for position to overcome the bad draw. (3) MISTER B’S WAY added hobbles and minded his manners in the qualifier; dangerous. (7) LIGHTNING FORCE should be involved but seems to lack a winning desire.

Race 2

(7) TRUE BLUE STRIDE had a quick first step off the gate and finished up willingly in his last qualifier. This is the first foal to race from Sabrina Hall since her 2007 son He’s A Demon, who earned over $314K and had a 1:53 1/5 lifetime mark. (2) FRENCH LAUNDRY got the job done in both baby races but will certainly be an underlay at 3-5 or lower on the board. Creamy Mimi’s two previous foals haven’t exactly lit the world on fire. (4) GUESS WHOS BACK finished up willingly but looked like he was going to roll by in the stretch and didn’t get there.

Race 3

(4) THE SHOW RETURNS is a full sister to $2.4 million earner Put On A Show (1:47 3/5) and three of the eight foals from this mare have earned at least $350K. She wasn’t quick off the gate in her baby race, but she responded nicely to the whip and went a pretty quick mile. (1) STACIA HANOVER sprinted home at Gaitway and certainly looks good on paper. She is the second foal from this mare. (5) HIGHLANDOPHELIAROC is from a mare that has produced seven $100K foals and he is a full brother to Mybrothergeorge ($326K).

Race 4

(4) VICTORIA MAY N was a good second when last here and drew some tough assignments out of town. Down Under import should be tough and Tetrick in the bike only adds to the lure. (5) WESTERN EMPRESS raced well last time for second. (6) MISS MACHQUEEN responded nicely to the addition of Lasix.

Race 5

(3) MISSION BRIEF was a $150K purchase and blew out a nice mile at Gaitway. (2) SATURDAY MORNINGS has been okay in the morning but did get out-kicked last time. She is the fifth foal from a mare whose kin hasn’t done much. (6) RULES OF THE ROAD seems to like to leave fast and could be the one to catch.

Race 6

(7) MISTERY WOMAN could not have looked better in her qualifier. She added Lasix and hobbles and stormed past some nice foes while powered down nearing the wire; I’m on board. (5) IL MAGO has a form edge on a bunch of the top trotters signed on to this race. (6) APPOMATTOX posted a sharp qualifier in preparation for his first start since January. (8) UNDERCOVER STRIKE is clearly good enough to go with this group if he feels up to racing.

Race 7

(2) MAJOR LOOK got back in the winning groove last week and has the class to think she can keep rolling. (6) MATTIE TERROR GIRL is another stepping up in fine form; better post tonight. (5) ICOMMANDMYSPIRIT won at this level two start back and had no shot last time.

Race 8

(1) PICTURE THIS got away last and had no shot most recently. Four-year-old drops again and figures to get a more aggressive steer. (4) LIGHTNING STORM reunites with Tetrick. If he minds his manners he could be tough. (5) FOR YOU ALMOSTFREE should be in the exotics with any decent trip.

Race 9

(5) DEALT A WINNER sprinted home in both of his morning efforts and could be better than his fourth- and fifth-place finishes would have you think. (6) TOUCH OF LUCK was a solid second in his first baby race for new trainer Larry Remmen. (9) WESTERN PIONEER blew away his competition last time but might not be worth short odds from the outside post.

Race 10

(2) DREAM LAKE showed some improvement in his first start for a new barn. (4) VIDA DE VIE almost lasted on the lead last time. (1) PROVE UP displayed some ability as a 3-year-old and this isn’t the toughest spot.

Race 11

(1) CASHAWAY was very sharp in her last qualifier. She is a full sister to a pair of nice ladies in Authorize ($385K) and Act Now ($257K). (6) SMART ZONE has won each of her baby races and sprinted home nicely last time. (2) STRUT MY STUFF was a decent second last time and Campbell chose her over #3.

Race 12

(5) BRUCE’S MAGIC took care of business in a faster time than we’ve seen from any of these so far. I guess he deserves the edge. (4) TOO DARN HOT is the first foal from a mare who earned $283K in her career; last qualifier was good. (9) SID ROCK is another first foal. My Fantasy made $344K on the track.

Race 13

(3) GASLIGHT isn’t a horse I’m going to recommend you empty your wallet on, but he has a chance against this non-descript bunch. (5) KEYSTONE WYATT is capable of taking this field wire to wire. (4) PT’S BOOMERANG is off a decent effort.

Race 14

(4) ALWAYS A ROLL was used very hard last week and gave way late. With any decent trip she should win. (1) EMBASSY SEELSTER & (2) SYNERGY SEELSTER are both off good second-place finishes.

I think Brian Sears set a record for slowest 3/4 (1:33.1) on a fast track in the history of the Meadowlands Friday night race three. The 2 year old trotters went much faster (1:28.1).
