Meadowlands: Friday 6/21 Analysis

Race 1 - $20,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 3 - $30,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Race 7 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 66 - 184 / $292.60      BEST BETS: 10 - 14 / $29.40

Best Bet: E L ROCKET (2nd)

Race 1

(3) MOONLESS NIGHT had some traffic trouble in her career debut. She faces a questionable group and could certainly show more this week. (5) TRUE REFLECTION finds another field that lacks early speed; should be close. (8) MC GILLACUDY-HENRY raced better last time.

Race 2

(4) E L ROCKET sprinted clear from the competition in his first start for the Burke barn and looks tough again. (1) APPOMATTOX raced well in his first start of the year. He is eligible to improve. (3) HELIOS rarely misses a chance to hit the board.

Race 3

(1) LIGHTNING POWER finds a great spot this week. If he minds his manners, you have to think he’ll beat this dull group. (5) ALL TROT finally stayed trotting last week. Perhaps trainer Mark Silva has him figured out. (8) CHA CHA MAGIC wasn’t bad in her first start of the year. She seems to have matured a bit over the winter.

Race 4

To be blunt, if there is a race where you should pick numbers or press the ALL button, this is it. (6) REGION HALL showed improvement with Lasix added and seems to be moving in the right direction. (1) RINGSIDE WINNER gets a better post and has speed. (8) TIPSTER qualified back nicely.

Race 5

(6) LIZS LIL K K switches classes but couldn’t have asked to find an easier C-2 field. Unless she is roughed up on the rim, she should get the job done. (1) ARIANE HANOVER drops out of mini-series action and should be aggressive from the inside. (5) SCOOTIN CAMMIE comes in from Rosecroft with form.

Race 6

I’ve been looking for a reason and the right spot to pick (3) FOUNTAINBLEAU VOLO. Tonight he picks up Lachance and gets a nice inside post to work with. The price will be right to roll the dice on the upset. (7) T P LUCY has been super in this series and is strictly the one to beat. (2) SCHALOM G burned money last week and is simply not for me in the top spot.

Race 7

I have to say that (4) DE VINS GIRL is not my favorite mare. She only seems to win when the trip goes her way. That said, she has Tetrick in the bike and a tactical advantage on the favored entry. (1) CAROLSIDEAL looks for the series sweep and seems likely to get it if she can make the top easily from post 9. (3) SHAKER REI has raced very well since coming to the Meadowlands. (6) CHEYENNE PATTI only needs a trip to menace.

Race 8

(3) AMALFI COAST finally got her act together and trotted the entire mile. Now she adds Tetrick and seems worth a shot at a price. (8) GLISTER HANOVER already has a win at the meet; early speed. (7) BOADICEA HANOVER was a runaway winner in her first start for Burke, but she only came home in 29 2/5 and could be overbet. (9) MISS STEELE has ability but could be driven conservatively from the outside.

Race 9

(5) ABROKENART HANOVER posted a huge mile last week in defeat. This group is a bit tougher, but he is sharp enough to handle it. (4) MAJOR LOOK gets a ton of class relief; respect. (9) BULLET PROOF also drops down; early speed.

Race 10

(2) WISHING STONE & (2A) MARKET SHARE are the clear choices as an entry. The former draws inside and figures to stay close. The latter was strong in his first start of the year and seems to have come back to the races better than ever. (1) UNCLE PETER comes off a huge mile at Pocono and is couple with another top player in Guccio. (3) SEVRUGA tends to get lost in the shuffle and figures to be worth considering at a price.

Race 11

(5) CANTAB JONES took a nice step forward winning last week even though the competition was very light. Cantab Hall-sired colt will get tested this week. (2A) DÉJÀ VU TOO has early zip and has only been worse than second once this year. (3) HERES JOHNNY produced a nice stretch rally last time.

Race 12

(5) CLASSIC CONWAY faced a much more accomplished field last week. He should improve in his second start of the year and defeat this non-descript group. (6) FLOWING JAMES gets a new trainer and drive; maybe. (8) BEAU JOE raced well last time; hard to toss.

Race 13

In what looks like a competitive finale, (3) SYNERGY SEELSTER leaves Yonkers to find a cozy C-2 spot here and should prove tough for trainer Mark Ford. (2) CAROLINES CULLEN N has some speed and adds Tetrick. (4) MY IDEAL arrives for a barn that has done well with Canadian imports. (6) LILYWHITES is off a good effort.
