Best Bet: ZEPHYR KOSMOS (2nd) Spot Play: GO BYEM (5th) Race 2 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool Race 6 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 39 - 121 / $196.00 (-$46.00) BEST BETS: 8 - 12 / $26.60 (+$2.60) Race 1 (6) TECH TITAN took tons of air and still trotted gamely through the wire. He draws inside that foe this week and could get an advantage. (7) FIJI is assigned an outside post after an impressive win. How will new pilot Offenberg get along with him? (3) PARTY ON THE RIVER should be close to the action without having to work hard. Race 2 (2) ZEPHYR KRONOS continues to take the ‘baby steps’ road to the Hambletonian. He faces an abbreviated field and should win as he pleases if kept reasonably close to the action. (4) U NEED STONES has some talent but also a habit for breaking; risky. (5) DAWSON SPRINGS is capable of showing more on the big track. Race 3 In a field that is 0 for 66, I’ll try (4) EUROBOND. He put in a solid effort in his first start of the year before breaking last time. It seems like he is deserving of a second chance. (2) CHURCH CHOIR has the early speed to make plenty of noise and may not look back. (7) QUANTUM KEMP gets a driver change to Yannick but likely will be overbet. Race 4 (6) THREEDEE DELIGHT A raced well in her first start for this barn and faces a blank field. (1) CHEAP THRILLS & (3) NORA’S TANDT have early speed in a field lacking that quality. (7) CLARA BEA comes off a win but is stuck in post 7. Race 5 (4) GO BYEM had a rough go of it for a couple of weeks but now seems to be on the proper track. He drops way down the class ladder and should prove tough. (7) MONTALBANO BI is back on the big track where he was doing his best work. (2) GOLD MEDAL SWAN should be fast off the gate and in position if the top one fails to fire. Race 6 (1) TERROR AT NIGHT comes off a pair of sharp races at Philly and seems like the class of this field. (7) ROCKIN PRALINE perked up in her second start back from a brief rest. Four-year-old has room for improvement. (8) FUTURE HEADLINES has been a new horse with Lasix added; must use. Race 7 (6) PRINCESS HOLLY N is perfect in two starts since hitting these shores. She catches a weaker group of NW3 foes and I see no reason to avoid her. (4) APOTHIC could be up against it versus elders in some instances, but she should be able to hold her own in here. (7) MACH THE CUT arrives from Canada and gets a class break; worth consideration. Race 8 (6) MAJESTIC SUNSET has made a break in three of his last four starts, but is getting a Hall of Fame driver this week. If he behaves, winning by open lengths is very possible. (9) GREAT EMANCIPATOR was uninvolved last time from post 10. He gets another bad post here. Hopefully Marohn will step on the gas as the gate opens. (7) KINGS CAST has been racing well and has some early speed. Race 9 (3) SUN SHINES BRIGHT beat a trotter in her last qualifier, though a very good one. Prior to that she faced some salty foes. With Gingras opting here over a bunch of options, I’ll give her a weak vote of confidence. (8) IDEAL LIFE started off her career nicely; post eight hurts a bit. (1) DANCE BLUE wasn’t able to do much in NYSS action. She raced well when last in this class. (6) LONELY DAYS also had trouble in NY races from outside posts but beat #1 here three starts back.
