Race 1

(2) MC TINYS HOPE got within a couple of lengths of (6) SCHALOM G and figures to be helped by the improved post. The latter is on quite a roll. I just can’t get myself to pick him. (3) FOUNTAINBLEAU VOLO is not the horse he once was, but if the race falls into his lap, he can get the job done.

Race 2

(4) LAUDERDALE had a tough trip last time and hung in nicely; big threat. Tim Tetrick chose first-time starter (1B) MASTER OF LAW for a barn he drives for often. This guy had some issues trotting as a 2-year-old but seems to be on the right track now. Trainer Don Swick finally gets out of the bike on (2) ZOLI, but this spot is not an easy one; mixed feelings.

Race 3

(5) CANTAB JONES charged home from the back of the pack and looks like an obvious play. That said, I’m not exactly loving this son of Cantab Hall as a good bet. (8) ANARCHY didn’t handle the slop while facing much better in his career debut. Over a fast track, from this hot barn, I could see him showing more now. (6) BAS HANOVER broke last week but raced okay in his prior races.

Race 4

(3) TRUE REFLECTION finds herself in a field full of off-the-pace types. Her early speed gives her a huge pace advantage. (9) ZINDERELLA scratched out of post 10 last time and gets stuck outside once again. She seems to be fast enough to overcome the bad spot. (4) LIZS LIL K K has been strictly a closer; tough call.

Race 5

(1) PEACEFUL EZ FEELIN couldn’t have asked for an easier spot. She should show early speed and get the job done late. (9) MISS LEE faces a field full of younger foes and slips in nicely under the AE condition. I’d be surprised if she wasn’t forwardly placed. (3) MASSMANIAN DEVIL didn’t enjoy her trip on the lead last time and speed certainly wasn’t good that night.

Race 6

(5) CHEYENNE PATTI gets out of the second tier and finds herself in a perfect mid-pack post. This race looks wide open on paper; narrow edge. (1) SUPERSTAR DREAM raced well for second last time and figures to be near the lead again. (4) SOLID QUEEN moves in a few spots and should show early speed. (9) DE VINS GIRL took plenty of air last week. With the right trip, she could make some noise.

Race 7

(3) ABROKENART HANOVER raced very well against the bias last time and should be sitting first or second this week. (5) CHARLOTTES MAGGIE was okay last time in the slop. Her prior races were super. (9) ITS DE LOVELY faced Open mares in her last two races. This spot is obviously much, much easier.

Race 8

(7) E L ROCKET looks like a private purchase by the Burke team. His qualifier was strong behind a nice looking 3-year-old colt. Gingras in the bike is a nice plus, too. (9) ORDER BY KEEPER needs to get back on track after a break last time. He has overcome the outside post in the past. (1) VINTAGE OAKS showed more in her most recent; using underneath.

Race 9

(8) IF I DIDN’T CARE is hardly a world-beater, but have you seen the rest of this field? She shows some early speed and comes off a decent mile. (6) NIGHTLY TERROR drops to the basement condition. She won’t find a better opportunity to win a race at the Meadowlands. (2) LILYWHITES raced well off the bench last time and seems like a legitimate contender for Mike Kimelman.

Race 10

(6) MARCUS BI took a shot on the lead at a point during the card when speed was not lasting the mile. He faces a similar bunch and deserves a second chance. (3) CAPTAIN PRIMEAU reunites with Gingras and should be forwardly placed. (5) T P LUCY pulled a last to first move on a track that favored that move. Even so, on form, she looks like a player.

Race 11

(2) CAROLSIDEAL faces an awful group and has no excuse not to win this race by open lengths. (1) ARIANE HANOVER should sit close to the top one and hopefully last for second. (5) SHAKER REI has been racing well; useable.

Race 12

All of the most talented contenders in this race have a major breaking issue. If they all look like risks, I’d rather stick with (4) GO TAPAIGH, who should offer a better price after another break last time. One day he will trot and go down the road. (7) SOUTHWIND CORNELL looks like the horse to beat and the likely favorite, but he has made a break in his last two starts. (9) BEAU JOE ships in from Rosecroft with plenty of early speed.

Race 13

(2) LEMON DROP HALL looks like the clear one to beat. (8) CULLENS BLUE JEAN adds Callahan this week. (1) ARTS JIMMY RAY raced well the last time he was at this level.
