Race 1

(3) STARZINNER went down the road last time and doesn’t exactly face a better group. (4) DAPPER DON chased the winner home for second as the heavy chalk; second best again. (8) APOSTLES CREED drops out of stakes competition and could offer some value due to the lesser known driver.

Race 2

(5) THAT WOMAN HANOVER finished second behind a runaway winner last time. Driver Tim Tetrick gets along well with her and this seems like a winning spot. (6) CHEYENNE MIRIAM got locked in and finished well when clear; clear player. (3) MISTRESSTOTHESTARS gets a barn and driver change; improves?

Race 3

(3) SARCY comes off a Sire Stakes win in the clop and seems to be a step faster than this group. (7) CUTUP HANOVER raced well two back and jumped it off last time. If she minds her manners, she clearly has a shot for at least second. (8) MAGIC MARKER also comes out of the Sire Stakes but needs to trot a bit faster to win here.

Race 4

(3) NEXT FLIGHT UP comes east for a new barn and picks up Callahan. There are no standouts in here and she seems to be in with a shot. (4) REAL DRAMA was used up early but did pace faster in her second start since November. She seems to be improving. (5) SMOKIN N GRININ was Zeron’s choice over my top pick. She is winless on the year but still looks like a player. (8) SMART ZONE faces easier foes.

Race 5

(9) CAMBRIDGE added Lasix in his last qualifier and did his best to chase Father Patrick. Maybe the medication steps this guy up the slight bit he needs to best this questionable group. (2) ENTRANCED has high speed when he behaves and he did stay flat last time. (8) WATKINS was facing better in Canada; clear threat.

Race 6

(8) FLYHAWK EL DURADO just hasn’t been in the right spots at Yonkers lately. He finds a somewhat suspect group in his return to the big track and can capitalize. (6) LIGHTNING STORM qualified back nicely and seems to be ready in his return to the races. (7) GUILTYWITHANEXCUSE is down in class but has missed a few weeks of action. (4) SWEET JUSTICE has the speed to step up on his best days.

Race 7

(1) CROCADILE CANYON moves into a high percentage barn off a decent effort and could certainly show even more now. (6) ACELO HANOVER is another switching barns. There seems to be enough early pace to set up his late rally. (8) ANDY BARAN scored in one of the preliminary races last week; another coming fast late. (10) STORMIN RUSTLER comes off a win and has some back class to tap into.

Race 8

(1) IN NOMINE PATRI couldn’t quite get past Lauderdale last time in a good effort. He faces an easier group this week and should easily be forwardly placed from the cones. (6) DREAM R0CKER figures to head to the top and go as far as he can. (9) YOYO shows recent form.

Race 9

(7) SET ME UP was in against much tougher foes when last seen here and the competition at Yonkers wasn’t easy either. She gets the narrow call in a close-knit race. (3) RIVER RUNS THRU IT couldn’t handle the extended rim route last time; chance with smooth trip. (6) BEACH STORY is one of many dropping in class, which doesn’t make it much of a class drop. She is eligible to improve in just her third start of the year. (9) BEACH GRANNY & (8) HIT BY LIGHTNING are both capable with a smooth trip.

Race 10

(8) WHITTAKER had no chance from post eight at Philly last time and ran into a killer in Good Side in his last start here. This seems like a better spot. (3) ESCAPADO closed well two starts back and could be along for a big slice with the right trip. (5) CAJON HOT SHOT is hard to back on the win end but should get a piece. (10) NORTHERN PRIZE would be the favorite from an inside post, but lacks early speed.

Race 11

(7) MASTER OF LAW plunges down the class ladder and has no excuse tonight. (2) WORLD CUP won as expected last time. This is a tougher spot but he is sharp enough to win. (3) OPENING NIGHT has plenty of class.

Race 12

(2) SOPRAVVISSUTO picks up Tetrick and outdraws the other logical contenders. (8) LADY’S BAG MAN adds a catch-driver and could improve. (9) SAWBUCK hails from a high percentage barn. (3) GETONTHEWAY actually paced the fastest mile of this group last time.
