Best Bet: AEQUITAS (10th)

Spot Play: MISS STEELE (3rd)

Race 1

(3) PERFECT ALLIANCE was far from great in her qualifiers but you have to consider tonight’s competition. The daughter of Credit Winner is clearly fast enough to play with this group and should offer value. (4) TO THE GOOD LIFE is the opposite of the top choice. Takter trainee has done everything right in the morning and seems likely to be more heavily backed than deserved. (8) SUZELLE HANOVER raced better last time and adds Tetrick; using.

Race 2

(5) SMILIN ELI couldn’t have looked much better than he did in his career debut. Muscles Yankee-sired colt could have a future. (3) TIMO DEO raced well in his first start of the year and gets a catch-driver this week; interesting. (1) CORKY has plenty of talent.

Race 3

(1) MISS STEELE got away last in a 12-horse field most recently and her night was over. Now she is well-spotted to the inside and should make her presence felt with a big effort. (3) SILVER CREDIT closed well from an impossible spot in the same race as the top choice. We should find out if she is good enough to trot with this bunch. (5) SOUTHWIND COCOA took plenty of air last time. Toscano trainee has ability.

Race 4

(10) WHERETHEGIRLSARE is stuck in post 10 but has enough early speed to find a good tuck. I can see her stepping up in this non-descript field. (4) SWEET LADY JANE came back in PASS action with a solid mile. Any step forward would put her in the winner’s circle. (6) LIZS LIL K K & (9) LIGHT OF DAY come off decent efforts in the C-2 ranks and seems like a fit with the right trip.

Race 5

(3) VAYA CON DIOS raced evenly in his first start of the year versus a much tougher group. Don’t be surprised if he steps up for his first lifetime win. (2) HES GOT MUSCLE raced well in the morning and would seem like one to include. (5) HERES JOHNNY flashed good speed last time and this field looks easier.

Race 6

This could be the toughest race on the card. None of these horses would shock me if they made a winner’s circle appearance. (5) CAMERON CHIP is at her best when she can relax early and make one big run at the leaders. With outside speed signed on, she should have every opportunity to play to her strengths. (8) WALLTOCOUSINS is so sharp right now. (1) PEGASUS BLUE CHIP finally stayed flat last time. (7) SUPERSTAR HANOVER was overbet last week but fits with this group. (9) B L CLASS ACT is off a nice win.

Race 7

(2) MARTY PARTY was used in a quick half last time from an outside post. She draws inside this week and can get the job done. (9) BULLET POINT has improved with Lasix added. (1) MAJOR LOOK has been right there in recent starts and should be tough. (10) RAMALAMA is a nice mare stuck with an outside post.

Race 8

(3) SCHALOM G doesn’t inspire me to wager but does look to be sharp enough to get a win versus this dull group. (7) MARCUS BI has done well at this level. (9) PERMANENT JOY doesn’t have a top catch-driver but is capable. If Spano can work out a clean trip, this guy could be involved.

Race 9

(7) QUEEN OF ROYALTY may have won last week if she got a better drive. Pierce jumps in the bike this time and I’m hoping for an aggressive try. (6) LIGHTNING PAIGE was in an easy spot and took care of business last week; contender. (5) BRITE JET has raced well versus better in past trips here.

Race 10

(3) AEQUITAS rallied nicely despite post 10 last week. This is a very weak field and Tetrick figures to be leaving this time. (5) FOUNTAINBLEAU VOLO is not what he once was, but if he is ever going to win again at the Meadowlands, this is the spot. (9) MISS CONNOR has early speed and raced well last time.

Race 11

(7) HOT SHOT BLUE CHIP qualified back nicely and everything from this barn has been firing. In this short field, driver Corey Callahan should be able to pick up live cover. (4) HARBOR POINT has proven he can step up with these from time to time. (5) TALL COTTON took a shot in the Cutler and tired in the lane. I can see him showing more with a better trip. (6) QUICK DEAL is fast and erratic.

Race 12

(1) PROCLAIMING APRIL qualified well and gets Tetrick tonight. (5) FICO flashed good early speed to win his first start of the year. (7) HANDOVER BELLE has talent but seems likely to get a conservative steer.

Race 13

(7) CHARLOTTES MAGGIE raced well when last seen here at this level. (5) SUPERSTAR DREAM & (6) GRAY OLIVES both ship in from Freehold with early speed and form. (1) BUBBY JO seems to be in an easy spot. Can she wake up?
