Race 1

(2) ACADIA AS sneaks into this race under the exclusive $30,000 cap for fillies and mares. She should be odds-on and win. (4) O NARUTAC PERFETTO was a good second behind the winner last time. (7) STEEL CURTIN is hard to toss after a solid Meadowlands debut.

Race 2

(7) JIMMER has some legitimate excuses having drawn post eight at Saratoga in three of his last four starts. Notice the last time this gelding raced here he was facing tougher B-2 foes and he already has a win over the track in 2014. (2) TOBELL comes in sharp and has a good driver in the bike. (9) WYGANT PRINCE took them wire to wire in this amateur series back in March.

(5) ODDS ON AMETHYST has always been a fast horse but judging by his recent qualifier, he might finally have his head screwed on straight. His early speed gives him a tactical edge on this field. (2) FLYHAWK EL DURADO posted two solid qualifiers in preparation for this and should be forwardly placed. (8) TRIXTON is a big talented trotter who has looked great in the morning. That said, unless the price is right, I’m inclined to watch a start and play him next week.

Race 4

There are some nice 3-year-old pacing fillies signed on to this race. (6) GETTINGREADYTOROLL is perfect in her career, with one pari-mutuel and four qualifying victories. She has two nice morning efforts under her belt and appears ready to roll. (8) BOLT OF THUNDER can pace away quickly from the gate and should be tighter in her second start of the year. (2) BLUSH HANOVER and (1) FANTICIPATION are both undefeated in two starts in 2014 and either could win on Friday.

Race 5

(2) WOMAN OF TERROR seems to be getting sharper each week and is the deserving favorite in this event. (4) THISTHATNTHEOTHER put in a big mile on the engine a few starts back and could be an interesting contender if Pierce sends her hard from the gate. (7) JARNAC is another with early speed that has been racing well for exotic spots. (5) IDEAL A LITTLE dropped time from her first to second start and could continue to improve. (1A) ITS DE LOVELY & (1) NOTREADYTOBENICE form a good entry that is hard to toss completely.

Race 6

(7) SCANDALOUS HANOVER went a big mile to be second last time and gets the nod. (5) MARTY PARTY seems to put in an honest effort each week and it is likely she’ll be in the thick of the action. (9) DROP THE BALL is the best mare in the race, but I didn’t love either of her qualifiers enough to take a short price. (1) HANDSOFFMYCOOKIE needed the start last time; capable.

Race 7

(1) WORLD CUP was stuck with outside posts in his last two starts. There is no excuse for him to fall short tonight. (5) CORKY picked up his game in that last qualifier. Although the time was slower than his previous start, the track wasn’t playing quite as fast. (2) BOFFIN had a bad trip last time and merits another chance.

Race 8

(5) OUR ELS DREAM N raced very well in her U.S. debut at Philly but bled in her second start. Darran Cassar trainee adds Lasix and should be ready to roll now. (3) MARINADE HANOVER closed nicely from far back last week and was stuck uncovered in her prior race. Any smooth trip makes her a major player. (2) HOBE SOUND exits series action where she was facing some good foes.

Race 9

(3) SPECTATOR K is feeling good now and should prove tough to beat. (8) WALLTOCOUSINS certainly fits at this level and has the early speed to make some noise. (9) BLUTO is proven faster than his competition tonight. If he can mind his manners and work out a decent trip, watch out.

Race 10

(6) BEE FULLOF STEINAM made a break upon arrival and immediately gets class relief. If she behaves, this looks like a sweet spot for her. (1) INITTOWINAFORTUNE has speed and inside position in a field that seems to lack early zip. (2) ABROKENART HANOVER also has speed from the inside and should sit close to the action.

Race 11

(4) DAYLON MAGICIAN flashed good speed and weakened late, but seems to be ready for a peak effort now. This field is loaded with early speed and I’m hoping for an off-the-pace trip for him tonight. (5) SEVRUGA has come back strong in 2014 and is always a threat to wire the field. (1A) UNCLE PETER makes his final start before heading overseas for the Elitlopp. This guy does his best work when close to the action and I doubt he gets near the top early in this race.

Race 12

(7) MR RIDGETAKER trotted a 1:53 1/5 mile last year; that sticks out. He moves into a new barn and perhaps team Marshall can wake him up against this dull group. (10) TSMLIL ORPHAN ANDY is clearly the horse to beat, but from post 10, I’m not running to bet him. (3) RIVERFEST closed well last time and faces an easier group now.

Race 13

(7) OFFINTOTHESUNSET paced home willing after chasing a slow pace last time. That was her first start on Lasix and she could show more now. (3) SHAWNEE DANCER has some form to her credit and a better post to work with this week. (5) BELLE BOYD is going to wake up one of these nights.
