Email

CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 13 - 47 / $69.20

Best Bet: TAKE MY PICTURE (10th)      Spot Play: BEST BOSS (12th)

Race 1

(5) GYM TAN LAUNDRY changed tactics from his qualifiers when in against the speedy and talented Googoo Gaagaa. Let’s look for more speed tonight. (1) MUSCLE SOURCE was steady in his first two starts of the year and now picks up a catch-driver. (4) VIC SMITH has talent and faced some good ones in his qualifier. Still, I’m going to watch the first week unless the price is right. (2) TROJAN HORSE certainly has a chance.

Race 2

(5) GUCCIO certainly gets into the weaker division of the NJSS. As long as he minds his manners he should cruise. (3) GHIRARDELLI LINDY will get a smooth trip eventually. (6) KODAK LINDY won at first asking; this is tougher.

Race 3

(4) FLOWER BOUQUET closed from Pennsylvania in her start at Tioga and took care of business at Pocono. I’m willing to take the price and hope she is this good. (2) VANITY TREASURE draws better and Ryder hands the lines over to Tetrick. (1) MRS D looks good on paper but gets away slowly from the gate. (6) SHANTY IRISH has looked good in the AM but broke in her lone start of the year; tough call.

Race 4

(7) IVE GOT A FEELING is certainly fast enough to beat this group. She took a shot last time versus a couple who would be tough in here. I’ll take a shot. (3) PACIN YANKEE didn’t fire in her Big M debut but deserves a second chance. (4) MOMMA ROCK picked up two seconds from her first to her second start. Another step forward puts her right there at the wire.

Race 5

(6) LITTLE BROWN FOX is another Takter trainee coming off a strong qualifier. He could get overlooked in this group but has the talent to win. (3) BIG CHOCOLATE has proven his ability and is hard to toss. (4) MUSCOLO posted an even mile in his debut and does get a new set of hands at the helm; interesting. (8) MARKET SHARE suffered his first career defeat in the Dexter Cup final. Who knows how much talent he has?

Race 6

(4) AUNT MEL wasn’t going far from post eight at Pocono last time. She draws nicely tonight and should offer a fair price. (6) TALBOTCREEK JEWELY saved ground and finished up nicely in her seasonal debut and could certainly show more now. (8) PERSONAL STYLE won at first asking in 2012 and lures Miller off (9) RIVERFEST, who also posted a strong first effort of the year.

Race 7

This looks like a competitive bunch. (5) RADAR CONTACT seems to enjoy this level and deserves the narrow call. (9) P NOTE BLUE CHIP gets some serious class relief after facing top mares for a while. (1) CAMILLE moves into the Burke barn and could certainly respond. (10) FULL PICTURE was a decisive winner last time.

Race 8

(6) LIVE JAZZ made a nice move last week and came up second best versus a classy foe. Tetrick joining the team can’t hurt. (4) DOUBLE UP HANOVER has a big shot if he stays trotting. (5) MASSIVE DRAMA gets some class relief but faces two potentially tough foes in the top two.

Race 9

(9) BILLIE BLUECHIP gets the class relief she needs and should be gunning to the front for Sears. (7) CUZ SHE CAN seems to be rounding into shape. (6) SHABALABADINGDONG also gets to drop down the class ladder.

Race 10

(1) TAKE MY PICTURE had no chance in the Cutler and now drops way down. He should take care of business. (4) CELEBRITY PLAYBOY is racing pretty well and finds a field with enough early speed to set up his rally. (5) CHAPLIN HALL seems to like to come from off the pace; new tactics?

Race 11

(2) QUICHE LORRAINE S qualified well enough and doesn’t exactly face any killers. (1) PAPER BACKED LINDY put in a good debut mile and adds Tetrick. (7) STAN THE MAN has a win over the track.

Race 12

(6) BEST BOSS is a mare I have always liked. She drops down the ladder tonight and I also like the switch to Mike Lachance in the bike. (1) SIGNAL returns to the Meadowlands at a reduced level and adds Sears. (4) UP FRONT CRUISER sizzled a 1:52 mile at Pocono two starts back. (8) MS BETTY HOPE takes on older horses this week.
