Race 1

(1) DÉJÀ VU TOO made a break in her 3-year-old debut but seems like a good fit with this group. If she can mind her manners, an upset is well within her grasp. (5) TRUE DAY DREAM switched drivers in her seasonal return and scored at big odds. At 8 for 12 lifetime, she likes to win. (2) LADY DYNAMITE just missed to the former last week and should be a player again.

Race 2

(5) ANDIE SOPHIA has been getting a little faster with each trip to the track in 2013. Another step forward and she becomes the one to beat. (3) MISS STEELE raced well in her first start of the year but was a smidge short, perhaps; dangerous. (1) M CS DIAMOND has speed from the pylons.

Race 3

(10) CANTAB ABS has been far from a killer in his two starts this year, but I’m guessing Tetrick can squeeze an extra second out of him. (1) CRAZY ABOUT PAT is another getting a new pilot in the bike this week; improvement possible. (4) KEGLER HANOVER qualified well in his first start for new trainer Johansson, daughter of former trainer Jimmy Takter. (9) GLISTER HANOVER showed some life two back and Ryder gets out of the bike this week for a catch-driver.

Race 4

(7) JETTA BLUE CHIP hasn’t blown the doors off in her qualifiers, but they were useful enough to think she is ready for this race. I’m hoping Yannick leaves with her in this somewhat weak field. (8) IDEAL A LITTLE had some pace in her first start of the year; using. (5) GRAPHENE ships down from Canada with some form.

Race 5

(1) MUSCLE MOUNTAIN switches to Gingras this week and draws a perfect mid-pack post. There are some interesting colts signed on to this event, but he gets my call on the expected improvement. (8) FASHION BLIZZARD is fast and risky. If Miller keeps him trotting, watch out! (6) CAJOLE HANOVER was super last week. I wouldn’t be shocked if he scored again at a price.

Race 6

(7) BEATGOESON HANOVER is on a roll now. She figures to take advantage of the early speed signed on here and come flying late. (8) ELLENS ISLE really woke up for new trainer Jonas Czernyson. This spot is much tougher and she’ll get tested now. (1) IL MAGO is going the other way on the class ladder. Hobbles seemed to help him last week. (9) QUICK DEAL is the fastest horse in the field. If he makes it past the gate, start walking to the window.

Race 7

(6) MAJOR LOOK had a very nice 3-year-old season and took on some tough foes to start the year. Art Major mare gets a cozy B-2 classification and is supposed to do some damage. (4) LADYS ART steps up off a nice win but hardly looks like a world-beater. (8) RADAR CONTACT added Lasix and posted a career best mile. Though she was clearly helped by the fast pace. (2) DRAGON PRINCESS was good two back and got wiped out last week.

Race 8

(5) DORSAY has looked as good as I’ve ever seen her in those morning qualifiers. I see her sitting no worse than second and bringing a big mile. (6) ORANGE BIBI clearly enjoyed the barn change. Hanney has done well with trotters here. (8) CAMERON CHIP is always dangerous. (7) FROM ABOVE only needs a smooth trip to have a say in the stretch.

Race 9

(6) PAPER BACKED LINDY seems to have righted the ship after some rocky months filled with charted breaks. This looks like a great spot for him. (5) WALLTOCOUSINS wired them last week and should be tough on the lead again. (1) BIG SKY BATS has been picking up frequent checks lately. (3) CAITIR gets a chance to be on the gate this week.

Race 10

(4) JK BLACK BEAUTY was super in that last qualifier. She’ll probably get a conservative steer, but if she is anywhere near the leaders, she’ll mow them down. (6) ABROKENART HANOVER has been a new horse since adding Lasix. (1) LIVE ENTERTAINMENT is only a couple of starts removed from a nice 1:52 3/5 win at Pocono. Note that this is a rare race when Gingras chose off a Burke horse in a non-stakes event.

Race 11

(6) EXLPOSIVE ACTION finished very nicely in his first start of the year and can build on that effort. (7) CORKY is a quality stakes colt that could have any kind of talent. (4) MY MAN CAN got the jump on my top choice last time.

Race 12

I spent more time on this race than any of the others and really don’t love any horse on top. Purely on the driver change from Del Cid to Miller, I’ll roll the dice that Andy can get (2) MOMS FORTUNE rolling early and just hold on late. (3) THISTLE DHU seems to have some ability but did pull up in her latest qualifier. (7) ONLINE EXCLUSIVE took a tour of the track last time. Don’t be shocked if she shows more now at huge odds. (6) DOC BOYCE was a very easy winner in the morning.

Race 13

(7) RUB THING drops down for a good barn and faces a mostly dull group. (9) LIGHTNING PAIGE returns to the Meadowlands at a reduced level and gets a new set of hands at the controls. (3) CHAROLETTES MAGGIE has the most form in the field.
