The outside posts isn’t ideal but as long as his trip isn’t awful the results should be positive. (4) FOX VALLEY STEFFEN rallied from the parking lot to pick up second last week. (6) GOLD MEDAL SWAN should be on the move early and could be a factor if left to his lonesome. Race 2 The conditions for this series couldn’t have suited (2) OPULENT YANKEE and better. He’ll be a heavy favorite to win tonight and really shouldn’t have much trouble. (5) DEEP IMPACT rallied nicely in his qualifier but still seems likely to need one more race to get up to speed. Though, Svanstedt has been known to have them tight off qualifiers. (4) FILLED DONUT picks up a Hall of Fame driver tonight. Race 3 (4) SWEETCHAP ships up from Delaware and finds a great spot in a basement condition here. It also helps that David Miller is signed on to drive. (3) NEVERDIE is down in class in his second start off the bench. If Cushing can find some early speed he should be a player. (7) MAJESTIC SUNSET & (8) IRON DOME are both in better spots this week and either is capable of waking up. Race 4 (1) LMC MASS GEM wasn’t going far from post 8 last time and he lost to a trio the prior week here that would all be favored in this spot. (2) SUTTON returns from a 17-month absence off a sharp qualifier. This is a high quality 5-year-old who may very well win this series, but I’m leaning against in his first start back unless the price is at least 3-1. (6) ROYAL BECCA J has kept good company at Dover and is in with a shot given a good trip. (3) PERSEVERANCE also comes from Dover and has plenty of form. Race 5 (5) BELLE’S DELIGHT had no shot in two Yonkers starts from outside posts to start her 3-year-old campaign and raced OK last time from the back at Pocono. This is the best spot she has seen and perhaps she can take her elders to task. (2) ANDERSON SEELSTER was used hard and stopped badly to start the year; improvement possible at a price. (1) BRUNHILDA will likely be overbet with Miller taking over the lines. She has a shot but is still 0 for 7 this year. Race 6 (7) JACK VERNON put in a solid effort last week and gets away from the classy DW’s NY Yank now. (6) GOLDEN SON went a big speed try last time and is dangerous to go down the road. (2) GLENFERRIE DREAMER picked up a confidence-building win last time. He is capable of going a big mile on occasion. Race 7 This is a tricky race. I’m going to try (3) BEE IN CHARGE, who comes off a good effort after a break in action. Perhaps a new set of hands in Callahan can get him back on a winning track. (4) SCIROCCO JAKOB is down in class on paper and clearly has a big shot. (6) STITCH IN TIME is a capable horse given the right setup and McCarthy is capable of working magic. (8) SWEET JUSTICE has been racing deceptively well; using underneath. Race 8 (4) DO YOUR JOB has come back after a winter vacation in fine form and has the class to step up against this group. (9) JAG OUT takes a plunge from the Blue Chip series to this NW8500 condition. A wake-up call is certainly possible. (6) SAGE N is somewhat unlikely on the win end but could save ground and get a big piece. Race 9 (7) TIDQUIST comes up from Dover in fine form and was winning from outside posts. In a field without a standout, he can take charge. (4) IT’S CHOCOLATE TIME should be able to leave around the inside horses and secure a good trip. (3) DANISH DURANGO comes off a win but is still far from reliable. Race 10 (3) BLUSH HANOVER is hard to love with an 0 for 11 record in 2018, but this field is about as soft as it gets; now or never. (7) PURITY should be gunning from the start and may not look back. (5) PIRAEUS gets a switch in conditions and could step up. (1) TIGER BOUDOIR can save ground and get into the bottom exotics.
