Race 1

(5) WISHING STONE posted a decent debut mile and now Gingras is going to stop here before going to Yonkers just to drive this guy. He gets my narrow call in a wide open race. (6) SEVRUGA returns here after an easy score at Philly; very sharp. (3) GUCCIO seems likely to wind up first over here and I can see another conservative effort as he waits for the $100k Meadowlands Maturity on May 4. (2) ICE MACHINE has been super lately; hard to toss.

Race 2

(5) MUSCLE MOUNTAIN was raced very easily and understandably so from post 10 in his 3-year-old debut. He moves to a mid-pack post and finds a weak bunch this time around. (2) LADY DYNAMITE raced better with hobbles added; threat. (3) SIX GUN HALL draws better and gets away from a tough foe.

Race 3

(2) CERTIFIED IDEAL hardly jumps off the page, but this field is lacking serious talent. Daughter of Western Ideal showed some ability as a 2-year-old. (4) HERE AGAIN couldn’t map out an easier spot here; has speed. (7) FEELINGMIGHTYGOOD ships in with form.

Race 4

(7) POSSESSED FASHION comes off a qualifier that is better than it looks on paper. He appeared full of trot on the final turn and really had no chance of closing into slow fractions. (1) ORDER BY KEEPER coasted against a dull bunch last time. He has a big shot in here but faces tougher. (5) JAILHOUSE JUICE possesses a powerful stretch kick and should be helped by the smaller field.

Race 5

(3) SUZELLE HANOVER showed plenty of maturity in her qualifying victory. She lost the lead and came back to win by a length. In this blank field, I’ll settle for the short price. (1) HERES JOHNNY provides Mike Lachance with his first Big M drive of the meet. He should sit close and get a piece. (9) EMBRACE PEACE has a better foundation this year than most in here.

Race 6

(5) ALL MUNKY BUSINESS continues to drop down the alphabet ladder and seems to have found the perfect spot to flash early speed and never look back. If I’m right we will see a rare Steve Smith driving double at the Meadowlands. (6) FROM ABOVE did everything right with Callahan in the bike. This guy has talent and if he has turned the corner, watch out! (1) HELIOS keeps ending up first over and seems in line for a similar fate from the rail.

Race 7

(8) RHAPSODY ROSE was a bit flat after about five weeks on the bench. Miller should have her gunning off the gate. (2) CLEAR VIEW HANOVER is forced to bump up more than one class as they handicapped this field. She is always a threat if the pace is fast. (7) MYSTRA qualified back well and is clearly capable.

Race 8

(7) FOX VALLEY SMARTY looked awfully good wiring the field last week. He bumps up a level but might be sharp enough to handle the task. (2) CAMERON CHIP only needs a live flow to make her late rally a winning one. (3) IN NOMINE PATRI has proven capable at this level; hard to toss.

Race 9

(3) LATTE HALL lagged at the back in her first start since September and was finally finding her best stride when another foe broke directly in front of her and caused her to break. She is no world-beater, but picks up Campbell and could best this group. (5) BIG SKY BATS has proven good at picking up the pieces lately and there should be plenty of pieces to pick up in here. (1) HEIDI FALLS was hardly impressive but did perk up for Pierce.

Race 10

(4) DREAMS BAR dropped to this level and finished well last week. This bunch is basically formless and pressing the ALL button on your Pick 4 tickets might be a decent option. (8) JOANNIEHASAFANNY won when last seen at this level. (10) RUNAWAY TRAY was hardly impressive last week but Miller does stick with her. (1) AUBSESSION arrives off a good qualifier for a sharp barn.

Race 11

(6) BEATGOESON HANOVER has been picking up checks against some top-flight competition lately. She gets some needed class relief tonight and could surprise. (5) IL MAGO has speed and reunites with Pierce. Don’t be shocked if he is sent down the road. (2) LITTLE BROWN FOX is by far the best horse in the field, but they have been trying to keep him patient and I doubt he will be handled aggressively.

Race 12

(2) IN FOCUS drops to the basement condition and only has himself to beat. If he trots, he wins. (3) TIGERS TOO GOOD rallied nicely in his first start of the year. (9) SPECTATOR K has early speed.

Race 13

(4) RUB THING was used hard versus tougher and faded late most recently. She should be better versus the weaker competition. (8) BIJOU THEATER couldn’t be any sharper; Callahan’s choice. (1) GORDYS FILLY YENTA should be handled aggressively from the pylons.
