Best Bet: AMELIOSI (6th) Spot Play: LADY RAM (3rd) Race 3 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool Race 8 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool MEET STATS: 105 - 403 / $718.10 (-$87.90) BEST BETS: 12 - 32 / $42.70 (-$21.30) Race 1 (4) DANISH DURANGO was racing well before a break as the favorite last time. In a field with plenty of early speed types, this guy could take major advantage if amateur Hechkoff can be patient. (1) GOLD MEDAL SWAN is in a winning spot if he can work out a clean trip. (5) HERE COMES NUMBERS is the speed of the speed. If somehow others elect to take back early he could go a long way. Race 2 (1) OPULENT YANKEE is plenty fast off the gate and should be sitting on the engine dictating the action. If that happens I don’t see much pressure coming. (6) MELADY’S MONET is interesting since he is capable of leaving and could be sitting a sweet trip behind the top choice. (1A) GURAL HANOVER qualified back in good order and is certainly fast enough to win if right. Race 3 (4) LADY RAM raced well finishing second in his career debut and any small step forward should be enough to take a picture. (7) PRESIDENTIAL ZETTE was racing well when last seen, but that was four weeks ago. (1) L DEES MIA took tons of action at the windows last time despite the fact that there was no shot he was going to be handled aggressively. Another easy effort is likely coming but this is a soft spot. (10) ACTIVIST put in some good miles last year and qualified well. Race 4 (8) MACHING ME ZILLY raced evenly after a two and a half month break and now goes from Cushing to Gingras. (7) ROCKIN PRALINE moves into one of the top barns in the nation in terms of wins. (10) JULIO’S GIRL has won three straight including here in her last start. (3) CLASSY CHAPEL N lured Andy Miller off #7. Race 5 (7) BELL A CHICK was in a better spot last week but I’m still going to stick with him. In his most recent start he toured the track from post 10; toss that race. (4) ROSE RUN QUICKLEY was stuck in post 10 as well last time out. He could be much sharper in his third start back from a long break. (6) MISTRESS VALENTINE burned plenty of money a couple of weeks ago. She is better than that. Race 6 (8) AMELIOSI ships in sharp from Dover for a good barn and picks up the track’s top driver; very logical chalk. (6) GWALLY gets some class relief and would be interesting if Miller elects to fire off the gate. (2) ASHES CASH has raced well in this class. (7) BOOTSWITHTHEFUR comes in from Monticello with good form. Barn has strong numbers here this meet. Race 7 Barn change alert with (7) CHILLED DESIRE A. Not only that but we are getting a major driver change as well. This isn’t an easy spot but that probably means we’ll get a decent price. (9) KEYSTONE RIPTIDE had to open some eyes with that second-place effort from post 10 last time. (10) MONICA GALLAGHER has won three of four and certainly should be the favorite despite post 10. She is far from a lock. Race 8 Every horse in this race seems capable of winning given the proper trip. (6) SCIROCCO JAKOB couldn’t last on the lead on a night where closers were king. If the track is playing fairly, he’s as sharp as any and should be a nice price. (4) DW’S REVENGE has displayed a huge late kick and could get better every week. (8) MY CHERRY PIE comes off a very impressive mile. (3) IRON MINE JOHNNY has been climbing the ladder successfully but likely needs a trip to win. Race 9 (2) NOT BEFORE EIGHT raced well with no shot after chasing slow fractions in her first start for this barn. Six-year-old has some class to her and could take a step forward since she missed over six weeks prior to her previous start. (7) WHISKERSONKITTENS showed some nice speed early in the mile last out and gets to drop a notch this week. (9) CHEYENNE TRIENGEL comes out of the same race as the former; Miller is back in the bike. Race 10 (5) CHAPTER TOO charged home late in her recent qualifier and showed a fair amount of ability as a 3-year-old. I can’t promise she’ll fire this week but a strong effort is coming. (3) PRICELESSPOSSESION & (4) TOUR DE LINDY finished second and third last time out despite both coming off layoffs. Either of these 4-year-olds could show more here. (1) NOBLE PRIZE seems to be on the right track now for trainer Ron Burke but I fear he’ll be overbet. Race 11 (5) BIG BILL BREEZE has reached the basement condition for trotters and while he finished last most recently, it seems like more of an even mile considering the outside post. There are no killers in this group and he has longshot potential. (7) STITCH IN TIME couldn’t overcome the trip last out. This is a good spot for him. (8) TWO HIP DIP lured Brett Miller off the former. There was a time where he would be the favorite in this field. Race 12 (4) THE LAST CHAPTER sprinted home nicely to win his return qualifier. A small step forward off that mile should make him tough. (5) MISSLAROSE will take plenty of money and could be setting the pace. If she’s over 2-1 I’d use her. (3) MEADOWBRANCH GLIDER raced evenly in his first try since early November. More is expected now and the price should be sweet. Race 13 (4) ROCKNROLL WILDCATS put up strong fractions and paid the price last time. He gets more class relief now and should prove tough. (6) DAVID’S DREAM moves in a few spots on the gate and tackles an easier NW3500 group than last time. (1) WILLIE BOOTS comes out of the same race as #6 and gets an even better post swap; capable. (9) LODI MACHETTE MAN has been racing well and should get a piece of the exotics despite the outside draw. [DRF HARNESS NEWSLETTER: Sign Up for the FREE DRF Harness Newsletter.
