(6) PARTY ON THE RIVER wired a similar group last week and was dq’d. He’s a clear threat to repeat. (1) HOT SUMMER KNIGHT has been racing well over the last few weeks. (2) DANISH DURANGO will be a factor if he can stay trotting. Race 2 (5) FASHION CREDITOR posted an even mile off the bench versus a much better field last week. I’m expecting much more in his second start back from the layoff. (1) MONTALBANO BI came up big a week ago as this barn is heating up once again. He is more than capable of going back to back. (2) SCIROCCO JAKOB remains sharp and a trip threat to win. Race 3 (1) BIG HERO seemed to have more in the tank than he showed in his lone qualifier a few weeks back. It is also worth noting that the winner of that race came back to finish a good second in a NW4 race last week. (7) LAW OF ATTRACTION raced well from a tough post in his debut for this barn; must use. (8) MASTER OF THE HILL shocked the world for 74-year-old Terry Morgan last Friday. He is unlikely to catch them off guard again. Race 4 (9) SAGE N flashed early speed and overcame an outside post when last seen at this level two starts back. This looks like another winning spot. (4) PURITY is another who was fast off the gate and actually finished second behind the winner in her last NW3500 start; same fate again? (2) GIRLLOOKATTHATBODY has been off form but does show a winning career habit and gets the same class drop as the top pair. Race 5 (5) WILDFLOWER double drops in class and has no excuses in this spot. (9) WAITING ON A WOMAN has no form but plenty of class. He has finally reached the conditioned basement and has to wake up eventually. (2) VIC’S ROYAL LADY failed to fire in the stretch in her first start for this barn. She can improve. (4) STEED is another getting a two-class drop. Race 6 (1A) WINDSUN BROOKLYN raced well here back in May and two qualifiers should be enough to have her ready against a suspect field. (5) ROCKIN PRALINE put in a solid effort in her first start for this barn and should prove good again. (4) MACHING ME ZILLY was fourth but only missed a nose to the former last time. (7) JULIO’S GIRL should be flying off the gate as usual and get a nice piece. Race 7 (8) DELIGHTFUL DRAGON had some late pace after a slow start at Yonkers versus much tougher foes last week. In her third start back, despite the outside post, she should flaunt her class. (1) CHILLIN IT DE VIE qualified back nicely and should be able to make the top and sit a good trip. (3) KNOW IT ALL is another that could fire off the gate and make her presence known. (2) MADE OF JEWELS AS has been dealing with outside posts on the half-mile track at Yonkers lately. Race 8 (2) CAUFIELD has been heating up lately as the barn has been improving of late. While this is a competitive race, he looks to be in a nice spot with the improved post this week. (5) ROUNDTOWN ROCKER is another starting from a better spot behind the gate; early speed is likely. (8) FIJI has displayed plenty of good performances in this class. (4) STITCH IN TIME steps up off a win and loses the driver that steered him to victory. Race 9 (6) OK HEAVENLY paced home well with no shot after chasing slow fractions last time. Pelling trainee drops two classes on Friday and should bring a top effort. (5) WHISKERSONKITTENS took a step down the class ladder and just missed at this level last time. (9) NOT BEFORE EIGHT does her best work closing from the back and hasn’t gotten a fast pace to close into in a long time. (4) CHARMING HILL was on quite a roll here in December; return qualifier was good. Race 10 (1) STARSABOVEALLERAGE looks difficult to back on paper off his last pair of races, but this is a very soft spot and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t come up with a strong showing. (7) TWO HIP DIP is another getting into a better race this week. (6) MISTRESS VALENTINE has the early speed to make some noise. Race 11 (4) ALONEINSPADES couldn’t have hand-picked a better field to face at The Meadowlands. He really should take this field to task. (5) MICHAEL’S VICTORY switches to the big track from Freehold in fine form. (2) VICTORYDAZE WILWIN tends to wake up in soft spots like this one.
