Race 3 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Race 7 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 120 - 471 / $676.50  BEST BETS: 15 - 39 / $57.80

Best Bet: OPULENT YANKEE (2nd)

Spot Play: HS CERTIFIED (10th)

Race 1

(3) TWO HIP DIP was simply facing faster foes in the Singer and Super Bowl. There are no quality foes in this field and he should win rather easily. (10) ULSTER has displayed flashes of ability when actually trotting, which doesn't happen often enough. (6) FERRAGAMO comes off a win but would need the top one to falter to go back to back.

Race 2

(1) OPULENT YANKEE gets away from JL Cruze and should win this race easily at 1-5. (3) RAZOR RAMONE is perfect in five starts this year; test for class. (5) SCORCHER HALL could get second if he minds his manners.

Race 3

(6) AGGRESSIVE put up a fast mile last week and seems to be moving in the right direction. Four-year-old basically faces the same company and should be a major player. (5) KEYSTONE BOCA gets a better post this week. I'd expect her to make the front in a hurry. (10) DETROIT RAPPER would have a big shot from a better post. If Marohn can work out a decent trip, he could upset.

Race 4

(4) MONEY ON MY MIND put in a decent effort to be second last time and seems to be rounding into form. I'd be surprised if a big effort wasn't on the way. (3) HELIOS takes the same class drop as the top choice and merits consideration. (6) ENDURO HANOVER has form on his side; not impossible.

Race 5

(6) LEAVEUMLADY double-drops in class on his return to the Meadowlands. Burke barn showed some signs of breaking out of their East Rutherford slump with three wins last weekend. (2) TOP BRAND closed from last in her first start of 2015 and shows the ability to go a fast mile. (3) BLUSH HANOVER reunites with Tetrick. (4) ROCK N LOAD is at a winning level if she brings her “A” game.

Race 6

(5) WIND OF THE NORTH showed he can trot a big mile when he posted a 1:51 win as a 4-year-old at Pocono. Daryl Bier trainee lured David Miller off #1 and that is a big vote of confidence for this gelding's chances. (7) LINDY'S TRU GRIT has early speed and plenty of form; must use, at least underneath. (9) MELADY'S MONET was superb a week ago. If he can repeat that effort, watch out. (8) ODDS ON AMETHYST will make his presence felt.

Race 7

(4) SCANDALICIOUS won her qualifier easily enough. Now 4-year-old finds a decent spot in her transition to facing older foes and seems worth a stab. (7) SOUTHWIND SERENITY could easily perk up for team Burke on the drop out of the Burning Point series; overbet? (6) SUMMER SNOW has plenty of form but needs pace help to get there in time.

Race 8

(3) TEAM SIX is one of a few in here getting to drop from the Open to this class. He is as capable as any of stepping up and might be the forgotten horse of the droppers. (6) OUTBURST raced reasonably well in his 2015 debut and would be a major player tonight with a small step forward. (8) APPOMATTOX sports a string of dull-looking races in the Open ranks. Expect him to take plenty of money and show early speed.

Race 9

(10) STAN THE MAN hasn't really impressed me yet, but the field he tackles tonight leaves plenty to be desired. Despite post 10 he deserves strong consideration. (3) ROYAL MALINDA lucks into this spot from the AE list. She finished just behind the top choice last time and clearly outdraws him tonight. (9) MAGGLIO wasn't bad in his last start; post hurts.

Race 10

(2) HS CERTIFIED should sit a sweet trip behind #5 and has a huge post advantage over the best horse, (10) FOX VALLEY LEGEND, who beat many of these last time but is at the mercy of the early pace from the outside post. (5) FUEL CELL will be involved early and could last if everything goes his way. (6) LEXIS AMIGO can barely keep his act together during the mile. If he trots, he'll get a nice piece.

Race 11

(7) SOMWHEROVRARAINBOW is clearly prepping for the Matchmaker series next Friday at Yonkers, but I still can't find a way to pick against her. (2) DELIGHTFUL DRAGON swept the field impressively last Friday. Could she finally be ready to bust out after a lackluster sophomore campaign? (5) INITTOWINAFORTUNE won the Open last time.

Race 12

(1) JL CRUZE looks close to unbeatable on paper. He'll either need to race poorly or another will have to step way up for him to lose. (4) CLEMENTINE DREAM never got involved last week. If Zeron fires with her early she could get into the exacta. (6) BLOCKING THE WAY finished up her mile much better with Lasix added.

Race 13

(1) BEAUTIFUL LADY raced evenly versus better last week and has no excuses for failure versus bottom-level foes. (10) DREAM'S BAR also gets a class break but is stuck in post 10. She is good enough to overcome with a decent trip. (5) PANCAKES can clearly get a piece, but I've seen her hang late too many times to love on top. (7) BALLINEEN used a good trip to win at this level two weeks back.
