MEET STATS: 39 - 188 / $222.60   BEST BETS: 7 - 16 / $30.20

Best Bet: UPFRONTSTRIKESGOLD (4th)    Spot Play: CAMERON CHIP (5th)

Race 1

(7) VOLARE DE VIE raced very well in the Singer series and figures to be sitting first or second in here. (2) DWS NY YANK is probably the one to beat but far from a lock. (1) NO LESS THAN MAGIC seems to be going a bit better lately.

Race 2

(5) ICE MACHINE shouldn’t find too many obstacles on his way to the top in this abbreviated field; narrow edge. (2) OPENING NIGHT wasn’t bad in his 2013 debut. He looks like a must use on every ticket. (6) SEVRUGA put together a useful qualifier and is as fast or faster than these. It is worth noting that he was driven home a bit in that qualifying mile.

Race 3

(4) GORDYS FILLY YENTA dropped to this level last week but was stuck in post 9. Now she gets a cozy four-hole and could leave or look for a trip. (7) MISS SAND CREEK & (10) NUTMEGS YANKEE both have speed and should be involved in the outcome. Honestly, any of these could win and I wouldn’t be shocked.

Race 4

(3) UPFRONTSTRIKESGOLD gets some much needed class relief from the B-2 level to C-1. I expect this gelding to perk up. (4) ZUMBA MOUSE wasn’t going anywhere from post 10 last time. She is dangerous in this spot. (10) APRIL SUNSHINE should enjoy having her nose back on the gate. If Yannick can get her a trip, watch out!

Race 5

(5) CAMERON CHIP seems to be rounding into form. She had a ton of traffic trouble last week and is more than capable of beating this group. (9) NEW ZION steps up off a decisive victory. Gelding seemed to get along nicely with driver David Miller. (8) LEXIS AMIGO stayed flat with hobbles added but Callahan jumped ship to #2. I give this guy a shot to light up the board. (6) KINGS CAVALIER drops down and deserves a look.

Race 6

(4) JK FINE ART chased a tough foe home nicely in her first start as a 4-year-old. Linda Toscano trainee seems capable of stepping up. (6) QUEEN OF ROYALTY faced some really tough foes last time. She drops a notch tonight. (2) DREAM BAR has swept the field on consecutive weeks. (8) SANGAAL took care of business last time but takes a big step up this week. It is interesting that Miller elected to stay here over a few other interesting options.

Race 7

(6) FEEL THE PRESSURE really had no shot last week and didn’t race badly. She has as good a chance as any in here and should offer plenty of value. (5) VAPORSTAR looks good if you toss the recent break. (7) IL MAGO was done in by a bad trip last time; clear player. (1) PEMBROKE HEAT WAVE actually qualified pretty well. It is interesting that Tetrick elected to go elsewhere.

Race 8

(2) UNRED HANOVER looked really good winning last week after chasing quick fractions. She should be sitting pretty behind #7 in here. (8) BEST BOSS has actually been pretty good in those qualifiers. The driver change is major in my book. (7) RHAPSODY ROSE continues to be sharp and should be pointed down the road.

Race 9

(3) UPFRONT BILLY qualified very well and was really full of trot in the stretch. I think this 4-year-old could score in his 2013 debut. (5) TOP BILLING is another coming off a very nice qualifier. He couldn’t have looked any better. (4) DASH FOR THE CASH is a good fit at this level. (9) SAND WYNDHAM drops way down. Don’t be shocked if he steps way up.

Race 10

(5) HEIDI FALLS hasn’t been racing very well but usually responds to these class drops. I wouldn’t be shocked to see a more aggressive effort this week. (10) BLOMKVIST got nailed on the engine last time but speed wasn’t great that night; another shot. (4) HOWMUCHUBENCH was better last week. Can he show more now?

Race 11

(2) GORDYYYS PET drops down and adds Tetrick. The last time she raced at this level, she won. (9) SIR JILLIAN Z TAM gets a driver change to Campbell; interesting. (8) ONE NIGHT added Lasix and charged home last time; using. (1) LOVE YOU BYE goes for Burke/Gingras.

Race 12

(3) QUICK DEAL has been awesome in his last two starts and seems hard to go against. (4) MODERN FAMILY should attract plenty of attention after starting off the year with a perfect 3-for-3 record; Tetrick drives, too. (2) WINDSUN GALLIANO is a huge question mark.

Race 13

(5) PALMS BEACH got toasted on the engine last time. He reunites with Carlson, who took this gelding off the pace and won on 1/17. (1) KISS MY ART returned from a long break and raced pretty well; must use. (9) CHEYENNE UMBERTO probably raced better than the line looks in his latest. (7) MACHAL ANGELO is a bit of an unknown quantity. I’ll throw him in on a couple of tickets.
