Race 3 - $30,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 24 - 78 / $159.40   BEST BETS: 4 - 6 / $14.30

Best Bet: COCOTIER (2nd)

Race 1

(3) FLASHBACK stays at the same level on paper but faces a rather light group in terms of class and form. I’ll give him the narrow call. (8) GRECALE AS finished up with good late energy when he found room last time. (2) UF TEBOW HANOVER adds Lasix for a good barn; maybe.

Race 2

(1) COCOTIER makes his first start for Ron Burke, who was quoted as saying this guy is better than another new addition to the barn, Time To Quit. That one reeled off a 1:53 2/5 mile last week. (6) HOME TURF qualified nicely but should still offer some decent value. (5) LITTLE BITTY LIES was good in the Moni Maker but flat last time in the slop. Her typical effort is probably somewhere in the middle.

Race 3

(3) GRACE SEELSTER hails from a barn that has started the meet out with seven in-the-money finishers from 11 starters. This is a blank field and her nine wins this year stick out. (1) NEW YORK KITTY switched to Andy Miller and raced well for second last time. (7) FOR ALL WE KNOW is a Burke/Gingras horse; enough said.

Race 4

(5) EPIC TALE gets post and class relief this week. Gelding is as good as any in this field and the driver switch to Corey Callahan is a nice plus. (1) PILATUS showed me something with a nice effort in his first start since August. Perhaps this 4-year-old is finally growing up. (2) CHOCOHOLIC was locked in traffic and appeared to have trot last time. He certainly has a chance in here. (7) FOUR STARZ SPEED comes off a good try and is hard to completely toss.

Race 5

(2) NARANCIA HANOVER had absolutely no chance last week and came home willingly. She gets in a straight B-2 race this time and draws much better. (8) AMERICAN IN PARIS didn’t exactly have the best trip last time; early speed. (5) MY TALLIA IDEAL has some talent and now switches to the big track.

Race 6

(3) APPOMATTOX swept the field impressively in his most recent race. When he feels good he can trot with any of these; staying here. (1) AFFIRMED ACTION secured the inside post and has the early zip to make use of it. (9) E W FISHER & (10) UPFRONT BILLY will have to overcome the outside but are clearly capable competitors.

Race 7

(5) CHEYENNE MIRIAM looks to be staying in the same class off a win after a quick glance, but she is actually facing older foes this time around. Considering her early speed, high win rate and the fact that this barn is doing well, I’ll take a shot with her. (8) BULLET SPEED is clearly in form and only needs a smooth trip to be a major player; must use. (1) PRINCESS CRUISER gets some class relief and should be able to stay close from the inside post.

Race 8

(2) SWEET JUSTICE set a track record last week but only had to move up one class. In my opinion, he should be in race six against better foes. Even though David Miller had to choose off, I’m staying with the gelding. (3) IL MAGO was second best behind the top pick last week and seems destined to that fate again. (1) HERE COMES NUMBERS was super with hobbles added. This race will be a nice test. (6) LAUDERDALE makes just his second start for trainer Burke.

Race 9

(5) TIGER BOUDOIR added Lasix last week and perked up with a big mile. She bumps up from C-1 to B-2 and losses Pierce, but still seems sharp enough to win.  (4) OLIVIA V arrives for Burke and seems to have form. (1) FASHION MAJORETTE has been in some tough spots lately; chance.

Race 10

(5) MR FENWICK was stuck in post 10 last week and closed nicely. This is a much better spot for him. (8) RIVERFEST is very sharp now but doesn’t seem to want to win. (6) BROOKROAD KNIGHT dropped to this level last week and was just okay after getting away at the back. I see him as a definite wake-up player.

Race 11

Any of these is capable of stepping up to win this race. (6) WISENHEIMER has early speed in his arsenal and past success over the track. (1) PLAY FAIR & (5) OVER AND OUT are both coming off wins at a lower level. (2) FEEL THE PRESSURE hasn’t raced since March but is fast enough to win if ready.

Race 12

(3) KEYSTONE WYATT has been keeping some good company lately and this group is much easier. (4) ALL ABOUT JUSTICE is still searching for his first win of the year and does fit with this group. (1) COLD CERTIFIED almost rallied from last at Yonkers to win. That is hard to accomplish.

Race 13

(4) SARANDON BLUE CHIP raced pretty well last week from an outside post and should have every opportunity to win this time around. (5) SPIRIT OF DESIRE adds a catch-driver this week; expecting improvement. (10) UP FRONT CRUISER could be flying off the gate. (9) PRECIOUS ROSE N hasn’t done much yet but it wouldn’t shock me if she won.
