Race 1

(5) OPULENT YANKEE has been chasing some top notch foes in qualifying action recently. Check out his career best time of 1:51 4/5 and you’ll realize he is a few lengths faster than these. (6) MAXIMUS DEO closed well despite missing over a month of action. Colt looks like he is ready for more now. (2) NEVER EVER CLEVER has been fairly consistent.

Race 2

(2) LISSAN hasn’t been on the track since the end of October, but qualified well in his first start for new trainer Ron Burke. (9) EMPRESS DEO is a sharp horses arriving for a barn that has begun the meet very well. (8) SILOUETTE picks up the top catch-driver of the night. The last time she got a top driver she won easily at Yonkers.

Race 3

(9) ODDS ON AMETHYST sprinted around the track for the win last time and should do the same despite the slightly tougher competition. (7) MARKET RALLY is a quality filly that recently finished fourth in the Breeders Crown. (1) TIME WILL TELL ALL draws better and should be close to the action.

Race 4

(3) CASH POOR ships in from Saratoga, an angle that has produced plenty of live horses. This looks like a slight class drop for the 6-year-old gelding. (2) VIBE BLUE CHIP finally draws well; good spot. (5) GUILTYWITHANEXCUSE didn’t fire in the slop. He gets some class relief this week.

Race 5

(4) ANTIGUA HANOVER also fits into the Saratoga shipper angle that has been profitable. Mare comes off a strong win last time. (5) CLEAR VIEW HANOVER was used early from an outside post and faded in the stretch last time. She really couldn’t be in a better C-1 and deserves strong consideration. (6) BROOKLYNS BEST & (2) ROCK N SOUL are both sharp and capable with the proper trip.

Race 6

(3) UPFRONT BILLY had no chance of closing into soft fractions versus a better group a week ago. Mark Ford trainee draws perfectly and should set up with a good trip. (5) HERE COMES NUMBERS moves into the Burke barn and deserves automatic consideration. (4) MASTER OF LAW can win if he trots. He has done his best work with Takter in the bike. (1) SWEET JUSTICE has speed; maybe.

Race 7

(2) MONTENEGRO had a tough trip last time and still hung in nicely. Mare has good form, an inside post, and Tetrick in the bike. (7) SPIRIT OF DESIRE basically took a tour of the oval most recently. It would be nice if driver Mike Simons got aggressive in this spot. (9) JERSEYLICIOUS has plenty of class but hasn’t raced since September; mixed feelings.

Race 8

(3) SIXTEEN MIKES was driven conservatively and closed nicely late after winning a pair versus cheaper at Philly. He is plenty good enough to win. (1) YOU ROCK MY WORLD ships in from Saratoga with a fair amount of form and picks up Tetrick. (4) CANADIAN WILDCAT gets class relief and might actually offer value; interesting.

Race 9

(4) DELIGHTFUL DRAGON got a nice even mile under her belt last week. With a smooth trip she is capable of the upset. (5) THAT WOMAN HANOVER was super two starts back. Maybe she didn’t like the slop last time. (6) CINAMONY has some class and seems to be adapting to her future life against older mares.

Race 10

(2) HILL I AM wasn’t very good last week, but I’m going to give him another shot from a better post against a weak field. (10) CHOCOLATE DELIGHT drops into a different type of condition and should enjoy this company. (8) TACTFUL WAY has been in good form.

Race 11

(1) PROPULSION won against lesser company and should handle this group just as easily. (5) DETROIT RAPPER comes off a strong win at Yonkers and his closing style should be even better on the bigger track. (2) EVERYONE’S TALKIN couldn’t be in better form. (4) KEEP IT SWEET raced well in her first start for the new barn.

Race 12

(5) JUST FINE is simply faster than this group. The three month layoff is a question, but I can’t go against her. (10) IMPATIENCE has early speed and form. (2) SUNLIGHT DANCER has been racing reasonably well.

Race 13

(10) ACE OF PACE finds herself in a very soft field. She is good enough to overcome the bad post. (3) ALHAMBRA ships into New Jersey with good form. (5) MISSSOMEBEACH BLUE was okay last time; exotics player.
