Race 1

(3) CUP TOWN GIRL has been sick more often than I would like, but really does jump off the page in a blank field. (6) SCREAMING CONWAY sucked along in a decent time during his recent qualifier. Maybe the new connections can get this guy going in the right direction. (5) NICKO DE VIE makes his career debut and automatically deserves a look against a field of proven dullards.

Race 2

(5) FOUR STARZ CREDIT was done in by a slow start last time but you have to love the 37-11-9-2 record he has amassed this year. I’ll take a shot that he rebounds in another tough race to decipher. (7) SHARP EDGE raced reasonably well at this level two starts back. (8) YOU ROCK MY WORLD is off a win versus similar and looks like the chalk.

Race 3

(5) MAGENTA MAN took plenty of air and kept grinding closer to (9) CURFEW last time out. With the start under his belt I think he can turn the tables on that foe. (7) MOULIN ROUGE has been racing well but will need to go faster to contend this week.

Race 4

(9) MISTER ANSON doesn’t exactly jump off the page, but if you have a good memory, this guy raced very well here at the end of 2015/beginning of 2015. (5) BALLARE HANOVER gets a big driver change and looks fast enough on paper. (10) DIVINATION was Miller’s choice over #5. She did finish with pace last time.

Race 5

(7) FOUR HOUR NAP has looked like a horse ready to win and now she gets the necessary driver change to get her over the top. (3) IHEARTQUESTIONMARK picks up Gingras for a barn that has been known to pop at a price here. (5) BORN TO DREAM seems to be in the kind of spot where driver/trainer Pat Lachance might get aggressive.

Race 6

(3) CASH POOR got to draw with the field in this race and lucked into a sweet starting spot. He is the clear one to beat. (2) TROTALOT raced much better than in appears in that qualifying line. Don’t be too fast to toss out this Kyle Spagnola trainee. (8) HYWAY MARCUS comes off a good effort and now adds Lasix.

Race 7

(7) FOX VALLEY LEGEND sprouted wings and flew home last time to almost get home first from an impossible spot. There is plenty of early speed signed on to set him up; good value. (6) SCORCHER HALL couldn’t have been more impressive after a three month break. If he minds his manners he’ll be very tough. (4) ULSTER gets a new driver this week, which is never a good thing for a headstrong horse that makes mistakes at times. As the likely favorite he is a clear play against horse. (2) TAG UP AND GO was Callahan’s choice over the former but that seems like more of a barn loyalty thing than anything else. Five-year-old gelding is probably the best horse in the race but doesn’t seem to be in top form.

Race 8

(7) CHEYENNE ROBIN couldn’t be any sharper. This field is tougher but I’m sticking with this filly. (2) SPIRIT OF DESIRE was fourth behind the top choice last time, but she is good enough to win with the right trip. (6) CAPELA comes off a win and should enjoy the big track. (1) EXOTIC BEACH steps up off a win; adds Miller.

Race 9

(9) HANDOVER BELLE raced big in defeat a week ago. She took plenty of air on the rim and battled gamely. (4) OPULENT YANKEE was a bit short off the bench and could show more now. (7) UVA HANOVER faces tougher off a win; should be closing for a nice piece.

Race 10

(4) PANCAKES was used to make the front last week but should have an easier time assuming command from this post. (3) PURITY went a long mile from post 10 and battled gamely against better; must use. (5) SOLID QUEEN faced a sharp field last time and fits nicely in here.

Race 11

(5) WINDSUN GALLIANO makes his first start for new connections and Gingras joins the team. This guy was once fast and maybe the new barn can find that speed. (6) OVER AND OUT was short having missed three-plus months of racing; more now? (3) FOLLOW MY DREAMS got up for fourth last time at 104-1 and could hit the bottom of the exotics again at a nice price.

Race 12

(6) ICOMMANDMYSPIRIT picked up her game last time and raced well despite a bit of stretch traffic. I’m sticking with her one more start. (2) CLEAR VIEW HANOVER raced evenly in her first start since last December. Don’t be shocked if she comes up with a big mile. (5) SIR JILLIAN Z TAM will be a factor at least underneath and perhaps on the win end.

Race 13

(5) SKYWAY CRUISER gets a better post to work with in his second start over the track and certainly faces a lackluster group. (1) KEYSTONE TREVOR ships down from Canada in decent form. (10) NEVERDIE adds Gingras and has a win over the track. (4) BEAU JOE has the early speed to get involved.
